I added Logliís supermarket to the Rockford places section because of its beer selection and proximity to Old Chicago and Cost Plus World Market. Logliís is in the same strip mall you can park in one lot and visit all three. Beer / Liquor store is off the supermarket floor and features an adequate selection of micros, imports and macro beers. During my visit it had a well stocked selection of regional brews (Bellís, Goose Island, Berghoff, Huber, Capitol) as well as imports and macroís (three kinds of Hammís). Good prices, well stocked shelves and not all beer was refridgerated. If you are beer hunting in Rockford itís easy to check out Logliís, World Market and Old Chicago.
Visited a couple of times in the mid-2000s when it was still Logliís - the Logliís chain, at least in this area, has been bought out by Schnuckís - and then again today. There are many other Schnuckís in the area - this is the only one Iíve visited that really deserves a listing here. Nice separate liquor department - as large as many dedicated area liquor stores - within the main store. The selection as of now is quite large, with at least 2/3 of it being craft - mostly Illinois, Midwestern and larger nationally-distributed micros. A couple dozen beer glasses for sale also; prices generally good though not usually as low as Woodmanís. Very close to Valli Produceís store at State & Alipine so if you are in the general area checking both out makes sense as the selections are somewhat different. No singles that I could see and there wasnít anyone working in the department while I was there.
They donít have as big of a selection as they used to, but there are still some less common, good brews to be had from brewers such as The Lost Abby, Great Divide, and Doghead Fish. The liquor department is well laid out and also has a good variety of liquors.

Update 12/6/2009 - Logli has reduced their beer selection drastically. The store still has a decent selection for the area but they now provide about half of the space for the more unique brews previously found here.
For the area, Logliís offers a vast selection of beers for a moderately good price. Recently I had found a For Collins mixer pack that no one else had in their stores around me (including the big liquor store Binnyís at the time). Generally when I am in Rockford I enjoy a stop here to see what oddball brews their distributor is supplying to them. A slightly limited stock of 22 oz bottles or other single serving types but still a solid selection for the area. When the beer goes out of season and the store puts them on sale here, it REALLY goes on sale. Found six packs for Great Lakes Dort and Elliott Ness for $3 one time, so keep an eye out for them.
Stopped here b/c I was staying a night in Rockford. Its a large supermarket, not really worth visiting for food even. The beer selection is pretty decent, just nothing too interesting. There were lots of brands, Capital, Founders, and others. Some imports, nothing too large but decent. I just bout the American Bourbon Stout and the Pizza beer. Even if I am in Rockford again I could probably skip purchasing bottles.
Even though they have a majority of mass produced beer, they do have a lot of beers that are not available in my area. I was happy to see Rochefort and Westmalle there. I will go back again in my quest to find new beers to try.

A very nice selection of imports and micros, I was impressed with the size of the beer cooler. I pulled six new ones out of Logliís on a Saturday night after an Icehogs game.
Lots of BMC with some micro stuff here and there. Really there is nothing interesting that you will find here. If there is something that you are looking for that is pretty largely distributed this will be an okay place to go.
well well, somebody added Logliís. This and Woodmans were my main sources of good beer in the city. I would usually go here for my SNCA fix during the winter. the staff is very friendly and somewhat knowledgible. Their little eatery has some good pizza and italian food for very cheap (definately worth the money). its good to see my old stomping grounds come up on the places (i never thought about adding them)
