We drank for ten hours over two days, paid 15E as a group. Manuele is the shit, he will do all but throw the beer at you, all in the softest, gentlest whisper voice while some group of n00bs in the corner yells out "HEY, CAN WE GET BELGIUM BEER HERE?" Back to the place... watching smoking hot locals at 1am Saturday night as you stand outside on cobblestone drinking Tipopils followed by Pinot D’Aunis is the shit. Watching successive taps kick in front of you is the shit. Not ordering a beer for five hours but drinking continually is the shit. In short, this is the best bar in the world, you’ve got to experience it for yourself. I don’t say that because it’s some unique experience I’ve had that is untranslatable: literally, experience it for yourself on a Saturday night. Please!
In a hole in the ground there lived... Manuele. “Ma che siete venuti a fà” it’s a f***# hole, in the middle (h)eart(h) of Rome; a hole - term which I friendly utilize - filled with passion and attention to beers and guests. Don’t miss it. Structural and architectual settings maybe limiting during rush hours, nevertheless Macchè is placed in an amazing corner of Rome, and it’s managed with extreme care. I never found an infected beer, or a bad bad batch. The offer on tap it’s multifaceted, and refined. Great bottles too. I prefer to stop here on a working day afternoon; but you don’t need a clock to enjoy a couple of beers at Macche. At last, great staff too! (Special thanks to Mr Pisky, who can read in my mind).
Wide variety of excellent and occasionally rare beers. Staff is knowledgeable, you’ll never see them rush a pour, and friendly, although their English is a little rough if you don’t speak Italian. Ambiance is great as long as you like old world brew/football pubs. Beer is a little pricey, but not unreasonable. I spent at least two evenings a week in this pub for several months and I’d easily call it my favorite brew pub in Rome. An absolute must for beer enthusiasts.
Spendida selezione e gestori super preparati!

Great location in a cool neighborhood, fantastic selection of beers, and always playing European and local soccer games with tons of Italians crowded both inside and out watching it. Very cozy, and quite Italian, but don’t be afraid to swim through the crowd to the beer. The guy behind the bar knows his beers and is very helpful and friendly. There is absolutely everything right with this place.

So, this was #1 on a ratebeer list that includes my hometown favorites Brouwer’s Cafe and Uber Tavern. what is not to love.
In a terrific and cool neighborhood of Rome, great hole in the wall spot. Chalkboards with the taps of the day, small fridges with the (nice and rare) bottles. Always some Italian and American handles, and a rotating selection (though in the two trips in two weeks I went, some consistency) of European brewers. I had some American beers that I had never been able to try back home and plenty of European ones that were eye-openers.
I really adore this place, and wish I had it closer to me. Great attention to detail and passion for the beer, reasonable prices. Worth seeking out if you’re anywhere near (like Belgrade)
