Visited 4.10.17. We were looking forward to sitting in Mahr's, but ended up talking and talking in nearby Keesman, so we came there shortly before closing time. Had one round of good beer and pretzel. Place was quiet, service was hasty but that's understandable considering the time of the day. Next time we'll get there earlier.
A bit out of the trodden path, this is probably one of the most authentic places in a town where authentic is the general way of doing things. A couple of not very large rooms with large tables, a corridor with some place for standing visitors and a front garden. Fairly quiet and not very loud, even when it?s busy. Decent beer and food, and definitely worth while visiting.
Came a wednesday about lunch time at two, easy to find a place in the nice spacey Biergarten.
I bought a Festtagsweisse in the hole in the wall at the entrance.
Ordered schweinekotelett. Both food n beer delicious. Very good.
Visited in Oct 2016. Cozy pub a little way from the centre of town. Service was OK but we did get a telling-off from the waitress as we had sat ourselves at a table reserved for locals only. Had the Bockbier (good) and the Festweizen (which was even better). Didn’t try the food. Worth a look for sure.
