This is a new taproom in what’s look like a generic office complex. Open brewery layout with a small bar and some inside seating. There is a large outside patio and picnic tables to greatly increase seating when the weather is nice. They had three of their beers on tap, along with a cider and a Randallized beer. They had bottles for take away. They had lots of staff there and a shade tent with some kegs serving in the lawn to take some pressure off the main bar. They have lots of room to expand. No kitchen but they had a food truck. Another nice tap room in the Cincinnati area.

March First is out on Kemper Road in Blue Ash - although they use Cincinnati for the address on official listing and Google Maps - in what looks like a normal office building. Their space goes all the way out to Kemper, as they have a sign up facing the road on the building, but they only appear to be using the back third or so right now. The front is still an open office space with overflow equipment - still carpeted and off limits to the public. So I’d expect some growth within this space, and in terms of what we’re seeing in the market. The tasting room currently is around the back side on the east side of the building, with a large garage door that opens, patio, and small bar and seating area. Casual, friendly, inviting place. The bartender was good and nice. Prices are in line with the rest of the area. Flights of four are available but no individual tasters. Bottles are available to go of most offerings, and you can mix a six pack. They had 10 things on tap, including 5 year-round beers, 3 ciders, one seasonal, and one draft-only special. The beers are okay, but the ciders were better than some other local ones. I got the more obscure stuff this time but will have to try the basic year-round stuff soon. I’m a bit skeptical of their branding strategy, as it looks just like Michelob and they have two branded Hummers that have basically been a punchline for going on, what, 15 years now? Seems like Kenny Powers came up with that idea for them. But anyway, if they can make decent enough crushable lagers and ciders for year-round consumption, that’s probably a niche that this market doesn’t have yet.

Visited on a Friday early evening. The place was fairly busy. I was able to get a seat easily at the bar, but all the tables were full. They had some picnic table style seats, some stand up tables, and some small tables outside. They had a food truck when I was there, don’t remember the name, so I won’t share my opinion. The atmosphere was friendly and super clean. Kind of reminded me of a modern coca cola themed diner. They had on draft 8 beers for my visit, with 3 of them being ciders. The quality of each beer and cider I tried was very good. Clean, to style brewing. These guys have potential. The place is pretty neat, too. I think going at a less busy time would be more fun, though.
