I appreciate the history of this place, in fact was nice to note that a number of the other customers were from the market. A wide range of beers but nothin overly exciting. More laid back during the day but rammed in the evenings. Uninterested staff. Somewhat drab interior. Would like to return for an early morning pint though.
Although I lived just around the corner from this pub some (too many, in fact) years ago, Market Porter never became my local, as it tended to fill up with bright young things from the City. On this trip down memory lane (March 17) I dropped by for a half pint of their Market Porter Cornish. Nice selection of beers on cask and tap, and the food menu looked ok - pub classics and burgers.
Visited in March 2016 - very standard pub place. Interesting cask beer selection, tap is not really interesting. Service is basic and ambiance is noisy. I donít recommend this place... Nothing interesting there.
Nice place with a fairly mediocre selection. Lots of casks and kegs(about 20) but thatís about it, and nothing super exciting on when I visited. Being in the area, Iím sure Iíll return to give it another shot.
One of my favorite pubs in London. Located just next to the Borough Market in a place which feels a bit magical to me. Upon entering you can smell the beer in the air. People inside having a pint or two during their lunch break. Very good selection of casks, thereís always something to try. Food is very good. Lovely pub, would like to visit every time Iím in London.
Corner pub at Borough Market. Was once a real ale oasis in London. Still has a good range of cask ales from across the land. Service isnít the best and prices are quite high. Itís usually busy and the after work crowd generally spill out into the street making getting in the place a challenge.
Itís a nice old pub and Iíll always pop in as pretty much guaranteed a new beer available.
