I went there on a totally dead night. The bartender was friendly and generous with the beer tasting. The food was good. The prices were a little steep for the portions you get. Too many fruit flies ,,,, which les me down.
Good German bar in Cincinnati. They have a solid German lineup, but it’s not an American craft beer haven. Food and service are solid, although a little pricey, especially for the area. Worth a stop though.
A German bar located near the University and University Hospital. I was here for a private event upstairs. The bar is dimly lit, has an authentic/old feel to it, with a patio outside. They have a number of German beers on tap; as it was Oktoberfest when I was there, mainly Oktoberfests. Certainly quite a selection though. I only sampled some of the food, so I can’t comment much, but what I had was good! I enjoyed my time here, would like to come back again.
I love this place! They mainly carry German Beer as it is a German restraunt. The food is a great mix of German and Cincinnati-German. The Cincinnati Mustard Club meets here once a month and Mecklenburg offers an all you can eat sausage buffett for $10.
This is my favorite German bar in Cinci. I love the German beer selection and ambiance in this bar. True beer appreciators are here because there aren’t any american lite beers on tap. Get some classic german beer, have some great german food and sing a few german songs. Prost!
Great atmosphere... good german food. Lots of beer on tap to try... I pretty much stuck with the Dinkelacher.

I was last at Mecklenburg Gardens on 4/6/2007, but forgot to post my rating... Mecklenburg Gardens is probably the oldest and best known German restuarant in Cincinnati. It is located near UC and parking is available on all the surrounding streets. The tap and bottle selection is nearly all German (of course!), but they have some really good and unique German beers on draught that you will not find on tap anywhere else in the area. On top of that, the food is quite good! If you enjoy German food and/or brew, then this place is a must visit!
Hofbrauhaus is a re-creation of a German bier garden, but Mecklenburg Gardens is the real deal. The best place in town to go for a broad selection of German beers. The outside patio is a very nice place to hang out on an Autumn evening.
