I have meant to write a review of Mekong since I first got on this site but kept forgetting to do so. First, the food is delicious and inexpensive. The beer selection, the comraderie and An’s events make this the go to bar in Richmond. If you are there on your birthday there is a good chance you will end up "konged" as An likes to serve up a goldfish bowl of beer to celebrate. There are often beers available at Mekong that otherwise would not make it into Virginia and it is the site of the monthly James River Homebrewers club meetings. When Mekong was voted best craft bar in the US, they celebrated by selling all of their drafts for a dollar. If you are within 100 miles of this place, you need to make a stop here! Mekong is for beer lovers.

I’m still not totally familiar with the location of this place, but I finally made it there for my bachelors party. Busy on a Friday night, but still enough space to easily get 6 people seated immediately at around 8pm. Food was really tasty, selection of beers was nice, not totally mind blowing, but probably one of the best "restaurant" locations I have ever been to, certainly the best Vietnamese restaurant beer list I’ve ever seen. Staff was really friendly.
Located hell out of the centre of Richmond (take the westward bound bus no. 19 there), the venue is a very popular Oriental restaurant woth a great selection of American, mostly local beers. The staff are busy and not very service-minded but polite enough. The selection is quite impressive, given the location. Fair prices. A nice place for dinner out of town, otherwise not worth your bother unless you really have to gather your RVA ticks here.
Odd to find a pretty awesome set of taps in an otherwise pretty average looking Vietnamese joint. Food was above average and service was efficient. With so many great things on tap, it’s a shame they only serve full pours.
Some parking in the front and quite a bit in the back (which was not obvious to me to begin with). My food was very good and well worth the price. Good draft list and pretty good bottle list. Beer was priced reasonably. Really good fast service and reasonable prices. They didn’t seem to have anything smaller than a full pint. I can see why people like this place especially consider the food.
Overall a good place to visit while in Richmond. Large selection of beers on tap on great selection in bottles. They also brew their own beers based off many mainstream craft beers. I had a replica of the Tart of Darkness which was darn good. The food itself was excellent and the service and price was outstanding. Definitely worth the visit for the food and beer selection while in Richmond
Plaace located on small plaza. Decour look dated. Cutlery seemed better days, dishes were plastic...Food was solid but, average plus. Not too salty. Beer selection very nice with BFM on tap among others. Service was polite but seemed tad bored (texting when not doing anything)....
