ambiance was pleasant, sat on the patio overlooking riverwalk on a drizzling day (but stayed dry). service was off, server was not aware of what a ’flight’ of beers was, spilled a drink, had us wait a stretch after being seated to even get drinks. food was served an instant after beer was. selection is a bit poor, they call themselves the ’ale house’ and while no lager styles were available many were golden ales and cream ales, weak boring ales that may as well have been pale lagers. food was pretty good, turkey/ham club was nicely put together but blue cheese potato salad was utterly lacking in blue cheese (though i am spoiled by the same salad at revolution brewing). value was quite good, flight (sorry, a ’sampler’) of beers, a diet coke and 2 sandwiches plus tip was $33.
Bustling’ on a Saturday night. Big place, lots of seating including an outdoor patio. Nice looking, clean place but it was quite loud. Service was friendly and quick, almost too quick as I got my flight and food at the same time which was only a few minutes after we got our pretzels.. Food good but not great. Prices on the higher side but it is in downtown. Beers were all solid, average to slightly above average, nothing truly noteworthy. Nice place to have a beer and catch a game. Close other downtown destinations.
Dropped in on a busy Friday night. The place had quite the crowd. It was also loud as hell, the crowd noise overwhelmed by a really bad SNL-skit-like band. The beer here was fair to midline, we didn’t try the food. In the end, the indifferent servers and average beer didn’t encourage us to stay very long. (Brewery #617)
Visited 10/10/2010 on a quick trip through Wisconsin. 12 taps plus bottles to go.
Came in on a Sunday evening and ordered a flight of samples. Kind of quiet with a few patrons hanging out.
The beers were all drinkable at least even if a few weren’t quite to style. Didn’t try the food so I can’t comment on that.
The service was very nice and helpful for the most part even if it was a bit slow. The bartender was nice enough to mix a 6 pack for me with the 3 available bottled beers (IPA, Milk Stout, and Pale Ale).
A nice place in the third ward, with a great outdoor patio. The beer selection is great, but the food is not exactly worth the price. The only reason I would eat there anymore is if I was looking for a pizza, which is also only average. But if you’re looking for a place with great beer. Look no further.
They have a lot of beers, all made there, and all on tap. Had the summer sampler and a couple other beers, all were pretty good. The food was excellent, the pulled pork sandwich was stellar. And the food manager there is really awesome. I recommend visiting this place, for sure.
A nice place in the third ward. Great seating outside over looking the water with a large bar feel in side. Wide range of beers that seem to rotate rather quickly. Food was nice but not outstanding and service was a touch slow. Prices were a touch pricey but it is in an nicer area of Milwaukee.
Was here for the Beer Barons competition judging. Had the fortune to also visit the bar and have dinner. Food is a good blend of pub food, well made though nothing crazy. Beer selection is probably 12 deep with a lot of rotating selections. The beers coming out of the brewpub kit are pretty solid overall. Worth checking out.
Was here on a crowded weekend night. Big, open place that is fairly clean. We had terrible service, it took us about 30 minutes to get our beers. Selection of beers was not too good, they 6 beers that were all pretty mediocre. Didn’t eat here because of the bad service, had our beers and left. Prices seemed alright. Not a place I’d go out of my way for.
