Visited in the evening, the places was pretty crowded. Struck me as a bit upscale gastro pub, could be wrong since it was at the end of our pub crawl. Around 30 taps, good range of styles and some interesting beers there. Didn't check the bottle list. Worth checking out.
Visited on a tuesday early afternoon for a late lunch and some beers. Small place with a good beer enthusiast atmosphere. Excellent selection of local and some non-local beers of general high quality. There’s a nice bottle menu as well, but be prepared to pay through your nose. Tap beers are on the pricy side as well. Staff was friendly and accomodating, food was very satisfactory. Will return here in our three days in SF.
Smaller than expected place, good welcoming bar vibe, very positive and friendly server (owner?) with clearly bucket loads of knowledge. Food sounded good but didnt try. Loads to get choose from, especially non typical (for America) styles. Very fair prices for the location. Nice beer nerd bar, welcoming to all.
Didn’t know what to expect here, food was very nice(try to have a meal here). Nice draft list, cool bottle list. Sours, stouts and IPAs, as a person not from the area, nice to see limited beers from the area available.

Nice "hipsters" restaurant with good but expensive dishes, 24 taps & +150 bottles (with some + decade old Lambic vintages. Some prices are reasonable, some high. Staff is very friendly, but the place come soon very busy, so you must get there early.
A must visit...just prices are mostly f**** high!
This place is my speed! In the Mission, so totally not pretentious. Just a good feel with the worn out wood and the cool ornate mantle behind the bar. The service here is the best I’ve ever had. The best. In every conceivable way. The best. The beer selection is incredible. The have food, but I didn’t eat. Too much beer to occupy my time.
Nice little place with around 35 beers on tap. Very high quality. The service was prompt and very friendly. Everybody in our group was very satisfied with the food. Deserts were excellent too. The only down side is the prices. $9.5 before tax and tips is a lot to pay for a ~35cl beer. Food was expensive too
Good selection, but a bit snooty. We were there for "sour fest" which was cool, but the guy at the door didn’t even let us in until table space had cleared up inside (it’s a bit small). Brought to mind a cramped, crimped version of Moeder Lambic in Brussels.
Pretty crowded when we visited but still worth the effort. We managed to score a couple of bar stools and had an IPA flight with excellent service and explanation of beers tasted. A really good venue for anyone interested in trying different breweries and beer styles in the one location.
I caught Monks at the perfect a time, a couple days after a sour event and a Societe event. Needless to say, the taps were extremely strong. I would need to visit during a non sf beer week to see how it is. Either way, service was fast, friendly and knowledgable. Seating is a bit of challenge int the cramped lay out. I didn’t eat but the food looked like generic pub fare. I had a blast and would be back, especially for their vintage bottle list.
