Fairly centrally located and a pretty cool place on a very main road. 10 taps, 6 being house taps. 0.2L and 0.4L pours available; the bartender is happy to give samples and is very friendly. Prices were reasonable. House beer quality ranges from solid to not great. Big bottle list too that I didn’t indulge, but it had some of the better rated MONYO beers. Recommended visit.
Visited May 2018. Place named Monyo Tap House. Not many bars have swing but this one have ?? mainly beers from their own brewery.. Beers served in ok condition. Staff seems a bit tired, not very service minded. They claim to sell small pours, but served big ones even though you ask for a small.. Easy to find, placed close to bus/ metro stop..
Our last visit this evening before heading back to the hotel. Great place! Great service! "My bar man" made a bar tab on request, which is nice. 10 beers on tap, displayed on a screen, powered by Untappd.... 8 from Monyo, 1 from Mad Scientist and "La Pirata Lab Nº 001 Super Oatmeal Stout" Oh,la,la I ordered the latter at once and later also enjoyed 8 beers from Monyo. My wife helped me a bit with the bright beers, the dark and strong one I had to down myself. Oohhh, what a pity... Interior? Strange, simple and reuse are the keywords here. Actually two swings hanging by the bar counter. Never seen that! Had to sit in one when ordering a beer. Beers served in 2 dl or 4 dl. A must visit when in Budapest. (Visited March 27th 2018 with my wife)
Can't believe how many times I must have been close to this place but never stopped by. It's a fairly large and quite busy city centre old skool boozer with lots of character and most importantly good beer! They have six taps mainly from Monyo with the occasional quality guests They have around 25 bottles to choose from too. Friendly, helpful service and working wifi. I'll be a regular from now on! Prices for their own beers are good too and 100 to 200 HUF lower than you might expect to pay elsewhere. Close to the Fovam Ter metro stop if you prefer not to walk.
Visited on 26th May 2017. 2 roomed bar on a busy main road in central Budapest. It’s quite open plan, at the bar the seating is a pair of swings that is pretty different and a little odd. Seems to act as the brewery tap as Monyo but does have a couple of guests on and a few bottles in the fridge, service and prices were good. Definitely worth a stop, didn’t see much of their beer elsewhere in the city.
