Pretty spacious tasting room in a big strip mall. Tons of house beers on tap, generally of very high quality and ambition. Flights of 6 x 6 oz. pours are available of any you choose. Prices are reasonable. Service is generous with samples. The beer quality is very high, so you can’t really go wrong. Very much recommended to pay a visit.
My wife and I have always had an amazing time here until last night. We frequent this establishment about 2-3 times per week and sometimes bring friends. Last night we brought in an older lady who just lost her father (Marine Vet). After only 3 beers with no previous drinking and no issues whatsoever I walk up to the bar with her to carry her drink back and for no reason at all the MALE bartender (not anyone I am use to seeing) says he wont serve her. I try to explain she is not drunk but just lost her father but he just wanted to be a jerk and when I asked for his name, he was rude and said "my name doesn’t matter". Also caught him staring at my wife a few times. None the less we wont be back! Just lost a few great customers.
We walked in here after a wonderful dinner at Belching Beaver and pre-dinner drinks at Wavelength. So two years ago downtown Vista was sleepy. Now, there are three breweries across the street from one another along with several other booming establishments, making for a lively Saturday night. The tap room is long and open with over a dozen options on tap, to include Nitro and Cask selections. This dog friendly establishment was full with pups all around and an eclectic clientele sipping good beer.
Stopped in here on an epic SD beer trip and was glad I did. Downtown Vista has an old school, small town feel (in the middle of SD urban sprawl), and this cavernous space somehow pulls off the feel of a neighborhood bar. It was PACKED early on Valentine’s Day, which you gotta take as a positive sign ... and it felt like everyone was a regular. You have to wait in line at the bar, but the single beer I was able to sample was very good, another indicator. I’d put this close to the top of my list whenever I can get back to SD. Brewery #733.
You just have to love a place where one of the waitresses suddenly climbs a ladder and starts playing bingo with the visitors. A nice relaxed place with wooden seatings. Kinda crowded but really friendly. 10 of their own beers on tap and about as many guest taps.
They lucked out and got one of the best street corners in Vista. Parking can be a challenge, but it’s an easy and nice walk if you park anywhere along Main Street. My recommendation is to head across the street to URBN Coal Fired Pizza and order up one of their awesome pizzas (be careful - they’re HUGE) and salads. To go. Tell them you’re going across the street to Mother Earth and they’ll hand deliver you your pizza there. Slick. The selection of beers at Mother Earth is huge, and the staff is extremely quick. The second we walked up to the bar, I think three bartenders asked us immediately if we could be helped. They pour your beer rapidly. I watched them take care of huge groups, with the same result. Some tasty beers - even for my wife who is not the biggest beer aficionado. And if you’re a home brewer (like me), they even have a home brewing supply store adjacent to the brew pub.
