What an awesome place to enjoy fresh mountain goat than at the brewery.
Great atmosphere in the brewery with a good crowd and the setting itself with the equipment behind. Even though pizza is the only main food on offer it is pretty awesome. Both beer and food are great value for money.
The brewery taproom which is open to the public for just three days a week. A spacious concrete floored warehouse serving seven tap beers, a few bottles and a decent selection of pizzas. Friendly service but no wifi. Tasting paddles of four beers are available for 12 Dollars. Worth the trip to get here to see where it all happens. They have free brewery tours on Wednesday’s at 18:30 too. The excellent Royston Hotel is also just 100m down the road.
If you’re here on Wednesday or Friday, you definitely need to come here. Really quite a beatiful and expansive place. Not that many Mountain Goat taps on, but you have the ability to order any 4 in a paddle for $11, a good deal in town. Beers themselves were rather weak to be honest, was hoping for more. Service is friendly. Worth coming to just for the atmosphere and maybe you’ll get a better selection of beers.
Absolutely getting pumped during Good Beer Week for my visit. Was bloody cool to be honest. All the staff were great despite being run off their feet and the beer choices are always very varied in styles and abvs. Quite an underground feel to the layout and brewery itself and it works nicely. Will return

Medium sized brewery with freshly tapped Mountain Goat beers on tap with average prices.
Have food trucks every now and then but always serves pizza. They’re Pretty good.
A really nice place to have a few beers and first class pizza on a Wednesday or Friday evening. Although it is deep in an industrial part of Richmond, its not hard to get to from the city by tram and foot. Given the limited opening hours, it always fills up quickly so if you aren’t there soon after 5pm you are unlikely to get a seat. Still, there’s plenty of standing room. Beerwise it all Goat with some regulars as well as special offerings. I’d say its well worth making the effort.
Nice local brewery & bar. The bar is adjacent to the actual brewery, which ads a lot to ambience. Also got a tour of the brew-part of the place, awesome!
Not a huge selection on tap.
Pizzas are good.
Lots of people there, good spot!
A must for any trip to Melbourne. In many ways, the home of Melbourne craft beer. Simple bar in the brewery with plenty of seating. Only open Wednesday / Friday from 5pm. Free brewery tours. Great pizza available. Core range beers plus any seasonals always on tap. Also have a ’randall’ on the bar running beer through a variety of ingredients. Guys from the brewery always around to have a beer with.
Visited July 31, 2013. Made sure I would get here a Wednesday so I could visit Mountain Goat, was rather excited! Got there a few minutes before 5 pm, opened already, so got in and ordered my first beer. Met up with two mates, participated in the free brewery tour. Had a couple of draught beers. Didn’t eat, some kind of pizza was available though. Nice, fast service. If I lived in Melbourne I’d go here often, great place, if you have a Wed or Fri evening available, make sure to go here! Filled up rather nicely, some seating available, indoors only. Brewery visible in teh same room as the bar and seating area.
