A bit of a dive - rough, ready and very loud. Unless you’re more interested in watching sport than having a conversation, why bother coming here when Cole’s is literally next door?

Very quick stop here revealed a nice tap list and a collegey vibe. Wish we’d had more time to get comfortable and partake of the draught list a little bit more.

A fairly basic bar, no present heat on a colder day, and a very good set of taps. Pales in comparison to its next door neighbour, Coles, but still has a variety of good taps from across the globe. Known as a college hangout, with lots of tables and pretty dark inside. Suggests to get your pint or two and move on, not hang out. The area itself is a relatively decent band convenient part of Buffalo. Only one server, but he hustled to serve a fairly good sized Sunday aft football crowd. At least two dozen taps on, Cask only on Fridays.
Retardedly cheap. $3 for PINT of Rogue Imperial Pilsener! For american customers its a solid beer selection. For Canadian customers its an experience where you want to grab as much as you can before someone takes it away. Atmosphere is not as sunny as Cole’s next door but gets the job done. Patio is nice enough. I will be back for sure!
Total dive bar. Cheap prices though. Full pints and a reasonable tap list. I didn’t really want to touch anything in here but it was a good spot to grab a quick pint. It’s tough because Cole’s is right next door and is clearly the superior spot - this place is fine when it’s packed there though - as it was when I tried to go back to Cole’s in the evening.
A few after dinner drinks because Blue Monk was too crazy, same with Cole’s. This place was empty by comparison, which is fine by me. Much more of a dive bar feel: pool table, loud grunge and alternative rock. Bar tender was quick despite being busy. Beer selection is obviously not as good as the other too places above, but what was on was more than sufficient. Ok place in a pinch.

Slightly drab looking place, not to cozy. Average service that varies from poor to very good. Solid selection of draft beer at great prices. Good place to visit if you are on Elmwood.
Much improved recently.
Stopped in here before meeting Rudy and Tim on weeknight. There are around 30 taps of decent beer that cover a decent style spectrum. I had no trouble finding a few pints to rate. Plus, prices are cheap. Pretty much a dirty college bar type atmosphere, and lots of smokers. Music was too loud for conversation, and they don’t take credit cards! WTF? Given that it is right next to Coles and they offer some beers you can’t get at Cole’s, it’s worth stopping in....for the beer that is.

The second biggest shit hole I have ever encountered next to Colter Bay Grill (also a Buffalo creation).
The inside resembles a dirty cavernous lair, with wooden tables and bar stools that are so old and worn down, they look like they’re made out of cave rock from the prehistoric era.
As we walked inside, the bartender gave us a raised eyebrow and grimacing stare down, as if to say, "do you really want to come in here?" The all-male clientele was equally unwelcoming, presumably because I was with my girlfriend and we were both well-dressed.
Yes, they have a good lineup of craft beer taps (I noticed 20 or so micro draughts), but they also serve slop from Budweiser and Labatt, and with an atmosphere and crowd this bad, and the grisliest service you can ask for, who really cares about the selection?
Overall, I would say your time and money are much better spent at Cole’s next door.
Visited on a Friday evening back in December when they were holding a cask festival. Lots of loud music and posts and people standing around pool tables drinking lots and lots of good, cheap beer. Even without the festival, their tap list is impressive and cheap and good. Friendly busy staff had a tough time keeping everything in order but they managed well enough. Tried some chicken fingers which were spicy and tasty. Definitely a college bar type feel that’s grungy and dirty and fun to be around when everyone’s excited. There are a couple good bars in this location, it’s definitely a good beer bar to visit.
