Decent enough place a few blocks from the Happy Gnome. Street parking within a block. Smallish and woody interior, feels a bit dirty indeed. U shaped bar with tables around the outside. Taplist on the wall, but also printed with descriptions of the beers inside. Bartender was nice, but not a huge beer person - when I identified a (for me) new Toppling tick she had to go ask somebody what it actually was (Biter DIPA). I did not ask about flights here; just ordered my Biter and settled in, at which point I was left totally alone. Did not check out the food at all. This is a solid bar by most standards, but it is hurt by its proximity to a truly world class establishment a few blocks away.
Weird vibe, with luxurious dark wood, leather booths, and pretty dirty otherwise. Bartender was helpful, but said "something to think about" too often. Good beer selection, maybe a little too heavy on past tap takeovers (2/3 of the list was New Belgium / Indeed / Summit) but I found some nice selections. Prices solid. A few rarities. Worth a stop.
Cool spot. Intimate, no-frills one roomed place with a large (60+) tap list. Plenty of interesting stuff was on tap across a range of styles. No real filler. The only problem was that it seemed relatively understaffed. The fact that the Muddy Pig doesn’t advertise their beer list online also makes it a less attractive spot than the nearby Happy Gnome. Still, it’s worth checking out if you’re in the Twin Cities. This is quietly one of the best bars in the area.
Visited with jackl. Huge central bar, decent atmosphere. Large beer selection included some interesting regional and national stuff. Nice bottle list. Single server was overwhelmed and forgot half our food order. Decent enough stop. It would be helpful if they updated their online beer list.
A nice old school beer bar. One room has a large central bar surrounded by seating with a second room that has additional seating. A few TVs scattered around but not in your face. 50ish taps with a good variety of local and non-local. Service was solid despite being quite busy. Food was good not great and prices were inline with the area. A very good beer bar.
Visited on a Saturday afternoon. Pretty nice beer selection, although nothing really stood out on my first visit. Food was average, but nothing special. Weird dance music was playing in the bar area, which didn’t really seem to match the bar atmosphere. I would have liked to have come back another time after my initial visit, because I wasn’t especially impressed.

Very great beer place! About 50 or so high quality taps - micros to good imports. Very reasonably priced. Had the Cuban sandwich which was outstanding. Great neighborhood bar kind of feel. Service is very good. Tough call between this and the Happy Gnome just down the street. Hit both if you can!
