Visited on 29th March 2017. Busy pub opposite Covent Garden tube station. It’s a tardis like place with lots of seating, most of it taken with tourists and the after work crowd. Decor is decent enough, beer range is solid enough with 4 cask beers from McMullens which you don’t see much in London. Service was OK, prices a little high. Not sure I’d rush back but it’s handy to know it’s there.

Visited sort of accidentally. Just thirsty and this was the first pub we saw. Typical pub interior and crowd. Nice to find some new ticks on cask, but nothing out of the ordinary. Very close to covent garden metro station though, so could be ideal for a quick stop.
This place doesn’t have much attraction accept that they sell McMullen beers, beers that you won’t find at many other pubs around town. The pub interior is all wood and old-school like. Average prices. Average uncaring but efficient enough service. I honestly would only visit here to try a half pint and then leave.
A busy, touristy pub in the heart of Covent Garden. I used to go into this pub in the 70’s after going to London away games, for some reason it was popular with Bluenoses. It’s not that sort of place now, today it was full of people dining rather than drinking. Not the greatest range of beers but worth a look.
Quite large pub with good number of seating. Cherish with loud crowd on a Saturday night. Interesting cask ales selection for the area with some unique offerings under the pub’s own name. Good value for money. Not a go to place for a beer geek but a nice place to drink a pint or two when in the area.
Nice looking pub with a perfect location, close to the Royal Opera House. Decent pub grub. With such a great location and all, you’d think that McMullens should be able to come up with something more exciting than their standard range of pedestrian ales. Alas ... Still worth visiting if you need the ticks.
Have visited the Nags Head a number of times over the years, more so for the occasional McMullen ticks before ’London got it so good TM’ !
Most recent visit Dec ’12 before a works presentation in Covent Garden.
Average kind of interior, nothing special but clean enough. The place is usually busy due to its Covent Garden location and on this visit even more so than normal due to its proximity to Christmas.
Service tends to hold up well despite the crowds and you don’t have to wait too long as a rule.
Clientele is roughly 50% tourist, 40% office and 10% n’eer do well.
Beer range on my last visit was 3 McMullens on cask, all in decent nick, but not the most exciting beers.
Not worth going out of your way for but if you’re in Covent Garden and feel the urge to tick McMullens then why not. Best avoided after office kick out for ease of service and grabbing a seat!
