My favorite place to drink Baird in Tokyo/Kanagawa. Prices are fair. The guest list is always interesting as is the seasonal list. The atmosphere is kind of cheesy but very spacious and relaxing. The staff are great. Friendly and helpful and the beers and food always seem to arrive in a timely fashion even when they are packed to the gills. Open for lunch and through the afternoons on weekends which is a huge plus. The pizzas are really good and fairly priced. Kid friendly as well in the afternoons. Just a great place to enjoy craft beer in Tokyo all around.
One of my favorite hangouts in Tokyo. Cool location, quite spacious and cosy, friendly staff, awesome brewerís pizza (with malt and hop salt), full selection of Baird regular and seasonals, 3 top-notch guest taps, sampler set, fidelity card, opened for lunch... What more can you ask?!?
Nice place with nice atmosphere. Went early on a Friday evening and managed to get a table, but it did get quite busy. The bar service thing is a little strange. No-one seemed to know exactly what to do. We did get a tab though, so we didnít have to pay every time. Food was basically good, but not as interesting as Harajuku, where it was a little more Japanese Izakaya style. Was more burgers and pizzas here.
I didnít get the bad atmosphere thing people had mentioned. Sure it is quite open, but it felt nice to me.
As others have said, you go here for the beer. Best selection of Baird in Tokyo, which means a lot of fine choices, and with the drink card it works out to 750/pint, much better than the usual 1,000 in the rest of Tokyo.
However, there is room for improvement regarding the service. The food selection is fair, but small plates leave you hungry. Better to get dinner elsewhere.
A nice place in this land where one has to do some searching to find quality beer. But itís out there! I watched World Baseball Classic on TV. Ichiro. Try the beer Ice Cream. I thought the Shimagumi stout Ice Cream was out of this world. Dry and light, caramel and butter sweeetness.
Go here a lot as itís on my way into town. Lots of beer choices, all Baird. Beer quality is very good, but serving quality is another matter. Itís gotten better, but you still get a pint or two that has been topped up from a pitcher of beer that has been standing for lord know how long. Even if itís fresh, you donít pour an already poured pitcher into a pint glass and expect someone to pay full price for it or even want to drink it. Head sizes vary according to who serves you. They are lgetting better but itís till not perfect. On the whole staff here are friendly, if a little hesitant or shy. Nice bar but the decor and feeling is more akin to some kind of diner than a pub. Evyone is exposed. No cubby holes or places to hide with your beer. Very group freindly yet not easy to meet new people here, due to the layout of the tables. Reccomend getting the nonbei card (12 pints for the price of 10). Tasters are way too expensive. A definite bar to try, especially if you canít make it down to Numazu.
