The atmosphere in this place is blue with smoke. Even in the ajoining non smoking room it is very thick with smoke due to a large pass through connecting the two rooms, and you are removed from the activity of the main bar . Too bad that we can’t frequent this place with it’s great beer selection.
This place has a very nice selection of brews. They have the TV around they have a bar type setting and a lounge type setting. The selection is impressive especially the high gravity brews. The food is very good as well. You can not drive by this place without stopping by.
Rather loud on a Friday night. Good service. Excellent selection of beers, although a little more convenient of a means of finding out what is available besides a chalkboard would be handy. Decent pizza, excellent prices.

Home away from home. The selection on the chalkboard will leave you standing up scratching your head, not knowing where to start! Then take a look at the Beer Menu and you’ll be overwhelmed. When you feel the need for food (Rich O’s and Sportstime share a kitchen) try the upside down refrigerator pizza or the stuffed mushrooms. They have breadsticks and beercheese to boot! Cheap. Set up the babysitter a month in advance, make driving arrangements, because a visit during Gravity Head is a must. Fossils meetings are held there as well.
I didn’t have much time to enjoy this place but it was well worth the stop. The winter fest was in full swing with such gems as Alpha Klaus, Great Divide Hibernation and many other unbelieveable beers on tap. The bottle list is even better - it would put most stores to shame. I ended up walking out with a Stille Nacht 2005 Reserva.
The atmosphere is probably better on a weekend than 3 PM on a Friday but it seemed like a great place to kill a few hours. Just be sure to bring lots of cash - you will have a hard time saying no to some of the offerings.
I think that the best thing about this place is the outstanding clientele! Seems like everyone we met here had a beers story and was really up on their beer. Made for a really fun evening for out-of-towners passing through. Oh, and the owner gave us a couple of vintage BBC barleywines from his own private stash. Can’t beat that.
an amazing place. killer bottle list, great atmosphere, nice tap list. the chili was fantastic(even with the beans in it). i ended up shooting the shit with an older gentleman and discussing travel, work and life. probably the best beer bar i’ve been to since i moved to kentucky
Rich O’s is the place. They are super militant about good beer and get some ridiculously rare and delicious stuff on tap. Rotation and upkeep of said selection is stellar. The ambiance is perfect: warm and homey if you are a beer snob. There are enough anti-swill and Marxist displays to make a macro-drinker uncomfortable. I love "The Bud Drinker" painting near the couch.
Awesome beer selection with knowledgeable staff & friendly patrons. The Gravity Head celebration has the best high gravity beer selection on tap that I’ve seen anywhere. If you like pizza, you are also in for a treat. I feel lucky to live nearby.
My home away from home and less than a mile from our house. I almost feel too close to it, I think that’s why I hadn’t rated it before. I’ll try to be objective ... bear with me.
A diverse crowd is nearly always to be found. Many profs from the local college, accountants, tool and dye guys and some pilots are regulars. Interesting conversation will nearly always ensue. Service is great - especially for beer geeks. Questions are frequently answered with a taster sized sample. The 30+ taps include 5 or so house beers and many revered guests. Nearly 200 bottles are in stock including some vintage and a few rare ones.
The food is also great. Several have mentioned the pizza, but the house-made soups, sandwiches (try the Ham and Cheese Our Way (with olives and banana peppers)), lasagna and calzones are also super!
Overall, I feel lucky to live so close.
