Update: The new place is bigger and brighter, which means more selection. They’ve added a "vintage room" where they have aged beers, and I picked up a 2011 Newport Storm anniversary beer. Lots of local, large foreign selection, plenty of US. Good prices. Sole employee was nice and gave me advice on a route to NH. Plenty of parking to tje side. Still a premiere stop.
I’ve got an emotional attachment to this place as I went to Providence College nearby, and as this place shares a shopping center with my regular grocery store, it was also one of my regular liquor stores. The ambience is fairly typical strip mall. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The beer selection is great (and certainly better than it was when I was a local). Tons of foreign stuff, American micros and of course local stuff. I easily found about 2 cases worth of stuff, and I could have bought more. A small smattering of beer, sake and cider. Some older stuff also that I didn’t expect to find. The prices here are great. They’re not too bad on their own, they offer 10% off of a mixed sixer and 20% off of a mixed case. Parking is no problem. Note that they are planning on moving downtown as they’ve outgrown this space, but I’m not sure of the timing. They said this was the best bottle shop in Rhode Island, I’m inclined to agree.
A large liquor store with a great selection, including plenty of Belgians, a good selection of Spanish ciders and many local and regional beers. The staff was great and their two dogs quiet. An essential beer store stop in RI.
A decent bottle shop located in a shopping plaza not far off I-95. Friendly staff greeted me right away. Fine selection of RI and New England regionals. Mix-a-six pack is allowed with a 10% discount when you do. Good Belgian selection too. I bought 10 beers and got out of there for under $30. Decent prices.
Located in a strip mall not far from downtown. Nice selection of brews from all over and even a few nice finds that are hard to get in my area. Shelves are a little disorganized, but it just makes browsing so much more fun. A little gem in Providence.
Stopped in for some bottle shopping on 7/3/13. Good selection of beers including some of the big bottle sour Allagash stuff (which we can’t get back home) and Founders Doom (which sold out in about an hour back home). Also was pleased to find FSW XVI, which is also not available at home. Place was a bit cluttered, telling me their selection would be even better with a larger location.
