The main outlet of beers from the local Redwell brewery which also stands behind the place. A craft beer pub with altogether 20 beers on tap. Apart from four Redwell beers, I had beers from Fallen, Solvay and Lost Industry all of them served in taster boards glass (1/3 pint). Craft beer bottles in a fridge next to the bar. Different sections with different interiors, one of them with church benches. Modern-retro place, quite welcoming and nice. Polite serving barmaid. Beach Boys and Buddy Holly music in the background. Central location between The BrewDog Bar and St Andrews Brew House. Not many people in the pub on a Monday afternoon. (Visited with Frau Eva 10.07.2017).

Visited on Thursday 16/02/17 around 2130. Stripped back bar on a street corner just up from the St Andrews Brewhouse and also within spitting distance of Brewdog. Randall employed on the bar with their own pale going through it. The place was doing a steady trade but not as busy as the other bars we had visited on this crawl ... maybe due to the crazy pricing ? Service was prompt and friendly and selection was fine ... 4 Redwell beers but just regular stuff ... A shame it’s tap house couldn’t host a couple of specials ! Guests included Thornbridge and Cloudwater (DIPA 11) but a Wiper and True 4.2% pale was £7.40 a pint !!! Maybe this explains why the Norwich Tap was the quietest venue of the night !! Ok bar but based on price and selection there’s other places you should visit above this one!

I visited here Thursday 19th January 2017. This was pub number six on my mini crawl in Norwich. The Norwich Tap House is reasonably centrally located, it’s about 7-8 minutes brisk walk from the station and is a corner pub/bar on Speedwell and St Andrews streets and for beer crawlers like me it’s between Brewdog and the St Andrews Brewhouse. When I arrived the young girl serving was having a crafty fag outside with her boyfriend, she quickly stubbed it out and popped into serve me, before nipping back out and lighting up another.

Inside it looked a little Brewdog’ish’ i.e. simply furnished with an uncluttered look, large windows provided plenty of light and it seemed quite spacious, certainly near the bar anyway. I never really explored but it did go further back, but it was another very quiet pub today. The bar was ahead on the back/RH wall as you enter, facing out to the street.

I really took very little notice of the beer choice, but as I recall there was a decent list, I had a Fierce beer. Also like Brewdog they had a Randall which they used to pull through one of the beers, I can’t recall the beer but whatever it was, it was getting the chilli and mango treatment today. I have to say this bar despite my review this place all but passed me by, it didn’t really do much for me and whilst fine was more mid table when compared to Fat Cat Brewery Tap and The Plasterers

The Norwich Tap House is clearly one of Norwich top beer venues. It is housed in an traditional building, but is very much contemporary in all other aspects As others have stated it has a definite BrewDog vibe to it. Inside is long and a narrow, with plenty of seating on benches. They have a selection of 20 keg lines, which of course includes Redwell. Others were from US and UK craft breweries (BBNo, Mondo, Founders etc). They offer tasters straight-up and beers comes in thirds, which is nice! In addition to draught they have a fridge full of bottles and cans. A rather pleasant place to consume some fine beverages.

Visited on 22nd July 2016. It’s a long, single roomed bar in the City Centre, nice feel to the place, plenty of wood and quite a trad looking place from the outside. A Brewdog style light board displays the beers, a decent range from Redwell, available in thirds or a tasting flight of 3 for the price of a pint. Beer was decent enough, prices good and service decent. Would revisit.

Great modern bar with a screen clearly inspired from Brewdog’s bar chain. I had Beavertown’s Gamma Ray in fine condition. I also had a Kolch from the White Hag brewery which was a bit old but other than that kept well. It’s a bit more pricier than its competitors in the area but it’s an actual bar other than a traditional British pub. They also had a really kick arse music selection from the likes of AC/DC and other prominent hard-rock acts such as KIss. I loved that! Here you want to party and have great beer!

This pub just breathes beer from its very pores. Tries hard to be trendy, and it succeeds. A bit BrewDog-lite, but this place could hold its own with BD’s best (and with the Norwich BD on its way I don’t doubt they’ll more than be able to compete). I counted 15 taps - 6 Redwell and 9 others from the likes of Bad Seed, Five Points, Wild Beer and Tiny Rebel - but I’m here for the bottles as they’re having a clearout (£2 for Sierra Nevada Stout). Do come and enjoy.

Visited in august 2015 with beery friends. Didn´t have any expectations coming into this place. Very quiet this afternoon when we visited this cosy pub. Very friendly staff, great selection of beers both on tap and bottles. Great thing, that they have a a printet beer list on each tabel :-). Very spacy, lots of seatings and a very nice atmosphere :-).. For sure a place worth visiting and re-visiting..

First, the name-check I promised - Dave, the manager, is pretty much the perfect person to be managing a bar, and also serving behind it. Knows about beer, and wants his staff to know about beer, and is full of tales and insights. Knows about ratebeer too - and the pitfalls associated with such ratings sites. Beer selection is excellent, even though there’s no cask. The kegs were characterful and well-served. Lots of the local Redwell beer here, it’s almost like a brewery tap. It’s a nice open venue. I imagine it being popular and getting a little claustrophobic, but we got here at opening time, and had Dave all to ourselves most of the time. Probably my only 2nd ever 10/10 for service, and well deserved. Thirds always nice for a ticker like me, but alas the prices were a bit "craft". Bottles to take away is a bonus. Good central location makes it a must-visit venue.

The Norwich Tap House was one of my two favourite places in the centre of Norwich. It’s long and narrow with modern decor which is stylish and in keeping with the old building. The beer selection was very good - 20 taps (all keg) set in a wooden beam behind the bar plus several fridges full of interesting bottles. (Visited 3 August 2015).
