The pub’s worth a visit for it’s age etc. 1 cask ale as per usual in Sam Smith’s but not in very good order. It’s cheap and full of old blokes drinking Sam Smiths lager.

Sam Smith’s pubs generally ooze a period style ambiance in their decor wherever you find them, however this one feels more apt than most for it. On the first floor of the Tudor style ’Rows’ which Chester’s commercial centre is famous for, this pub clearly attempts to enhance the experience with a medieval styling throughout. This is an interior pub as well so there’s no natural light in here which in part helps create the ambiance. In reality it feels a little forced with its decor but it’s no less of a pub for it and it’s a friendly enough place to sample Sam Smith’s ales and lagers and there’s also plenty of their bottled brews on offer too, including the high volume Yorkshire Stingo at just under £10.
