Decent selection of bees on tap. We did have good beers, but also some OK beers. However, they do have an extensive bottle selection. Modern style bar with a variety of stools and tables for seating. Nice and relaxed feeling inside the bar.
Walking into this place was like coming to a candystore. What first met you was 7 or so taps, which almost all were new ones for me. Once walking a bit further in you find about 7 or so more taps, and the bottles. Oh my goth what a bottle selection. Trying to count the bottle selection while having about 10 beers here made me finish the count at close to 120. This place also had a lot of beers from breweries I hadn’t previously heard of. Very different selection compared to Stockholm or even Umeå. The only thing I lacked here was beers from breweries in Northern Sweden, so I recommended them to talk to Beer Studio, South Side and Bryggverket to try to get some of their beers. The staff did actually even write down the recommendations. Oh dear what a place. Things have really kicked off since I last visited Gothenburg in 2007 or so. Just WOW.
Big bottle selection of local craft beer together with other Swedish craft beer options. A few taps that usually offer some new local beers to try and plenty of Spendrups "craft beer". Food is great and comes at a very good price. Staff is friendly and knowledgable. My only complaint is the ambience with a clientele that doesn’t really suit me...
Best in Sweden when it comes to swedish beers. Nice pub located just ten meters from The Rover. Focus on Swedish craft beer. Ten or so taps, often with new beers for me. Lots of Swedish bottles. Nice atmosphere. Food is really good and with rather nice prices to be in Sweden. A must if you visit Gothenburg.
Interesting place that serves Swedish beers exclusively. Not a tourist trap however. Standard dark, somewhat dingy pub on the main bar street Unfortunately the tap selection is mostly crud from Gotland. On bottle they have a lot of things from small regional breweries you don’t normally find in bars, and can no longer order through Systembolaget. Don’t expect to find anything super-rare or fancy though.
A nice beer-centric joint in a cool Brooklyn-ish environment in Gothenburg center. Impressive selection - and well displayed - of Swedish craft bottles. Some unusual and intriguing things. Handful of draft beers, some were not so craft or boring. Overall, nice place with outdoor seats.
Visited twice over my weekend in Goteborg at opening time - 2pm Friday 21/03/14 and for Sunday luncheon on 23/03/14.
long smallL-shaped bar with the bottled beers positioned in a centrally located fridge where you can just about see them behind the bar.
Tap selection was OK, nothing massively interesting but the bottled beer range was decent with plenty of Beerbliotek goodies available.
Service was good on both visits, as was ambiance - a little quiet at opening on Friday but it soon picked up.
Sunday lunchtime was a lot busier and we bagged the last table.
Food was good but I think my fish soup in Olrepubliken on Friday just trumped the on here!
Overall a decent bar that is definately worth dropping into and just over the road from the Rover too.
A really well rounded craft beer haunt near the Stena Line ferry terminal. I’ve taken the trip from my Danish home in Skagen, Denmark, to my home in Oslo, Norway via Gothenburg in order to visit this place a couple of times. Lots of good Swedish craft beers, good people and a good looking bar. They keep up with whats what in Swedish brewing, so you’re always sure to find something new and fresh here.
