A friendly place for tourists to go. The bartenders were attentive and friendly. The locals were willing to strike up conversation. The beer was not the best I’ve ever had, but was clearly better than average. There were 5 or 6 beers on tap. I was surprised by how few people were there, but that was the same for the whole city. Good selection of music being played, although there was nothing live when I was there (I was staying close by, so I went in 3 consecutive nights).
Average place, with nice view on brewery, quite good selection of beers (own plus guest beers). Beer itself very reasonably priced, but quite average. Good for thirst quenching, but nothing worth remembering.
Just had my first and probably last visit at this place. I kind of like the ambiance and the service wasn’t terrible but this is the second worst brewpub I have ever visited beer wise. 5 of 8 beers where totally ruined by DMS and Diacetyl and almost undrinkable... Don’t they clean the tap lines at all at this place?
Walked over from city center and found it was 30 minutes until they opened, so killed some time at The Broker up the street. Came back at 3pm, tried two of the beers in small samples and they were both in terrible shape. Didn’t stay long. Had a comfy Brown Bar look and feel, maybe it could have rocked if the beer was any good. Would not recommend based on my experience, which doesn’t seem uncommon.
This brewpub is a bit off-center and it is located in what appeared to me as a relatively quiet semi-residential neighbourhood. There is a more lively area a few blocks away, but close to the pub there isn’t much happening. Clean interior with somewhat of a classic English pub style feel to it. They had 7 taps in service, all their own beers I believe. This place has no patio whatsoever so we didn’t stay long. Prices were among the most affordable I’ve seen in Norway, less than $15 for a full 500ml pint (that’s a cheap price in Norway). I had a pint of their Torpedo (the most interesting beer they had) and I liked it. Their beers are said to be boring but the one and only pint I had there was actually pretty decent. I didn’t ask if they do sample trays, not my thing, but most brewpubs usually do that. Clientele was representative of the pub atmosphere, quiet, clean and boring. This pub doesn’t seem to be a party place. Classic rock at low volume. Worth a pit-stop but not a detour.
