Good ícastleí atmosphere with high ceilings, big chandeliers and paintings depicting all sorts of posh Renaissance conviviality. Quite a busy and noisy place on a saturday afternoon. Beer selection consists of a number of their own beers, I had a fairly mild IPA and a decent Stout. Prices are on the high side as expected for a place on the canal. Will return on a less crowded afternoon to try the other beers.

Fairly big (for NL) and lively place (on a Friday night) that makes fairly decent beers. It looks almost like one of those converted church places inside with high ceilings, huge lamps and a fairly old school feel. At the same time itís clearly a popular place to go out, fairly busy with a DJ playing slightly too loud music. Being a boring old bastard I think Iíd rather come on a quieter night. Still, a decent brewpub and Iíll certainly return.

Rater fancy place besides the canal. Service is nice, ambiance as well, but the beer quality is not excellent. Nothing special in terms of beer.
Gone Along on weekend with my girlfriend a lovely looking castle on the canal with inside a nice cozy cafť with 6 own beers on tap , the service was good but nothing more the beer dubbele daen I íve been drinking was reasonable Certainly the effort to go along if youíre in the neighborhood
Great loaton and beuatiful building / interior. One could easily think oneself a lord at his castle, after few beers. Service is friendly, bit slow. Not too crowded on tuesday afternoon, but have seen this palce packed at end of the week. Beers are OK, not outstanding. Good place to remember. Not all beers available.
Beautiful old building at the íOudegrachtí in Utrecht. They brew their own beers, but these brews arenít very interesting. Food is nice. Prices are quite high, but itís kind of a fancy place, so thatís to be expected.
Rerate: visited again a couple of times this year. Quite poshy atmosphere, will probably always stay that way. Outside they have a nice patio alongside the street, but the best is next to the canal. More tourists will be there in summer and it is a nice place to hang out. Quite decent food available as well as very nice finger food (bittergarnituur), although it is not cheap. Beers are mainly German and Belgian styled and although not very interesting, decently made. I prefer their Ouwe and Jonge Daen, which are the hefeweizen and kristallweizen. Service is ok, mostly quick. Dont count on knowledge about the beers more than basic style. About 4 of their beers usually available. Decent place.
Original rating: Quite poshy people are coming here. Very nice to give a party inside, but not for getting a beer with your friends.
