This place was lively on a late Sunday morning when I visited with a friend for brunch. The food was pretty good (fried chicken with cheddar biscuits and gravy alongside house potatoes). They had a few house beers on tap of average quality. We enjoyed excellent service.
Nice enough place in pacific beach with a deceiving amount of seating between the tables inside, on the patio, the roof top patio, and the bar. Service is a bit hectic, but fairly good. The beers here are mediocre at best, mostly below average. Sort of the typical blonde, pale, amber, stout, etc combo. Food seemed to be enjoyed by the others in our party, but I wasnít hungry. Would consider coming here to hang out and get loaded, but not for the beer.
This is one of those sort of outdated brewpubs with a blonde, wit, IPA, DIPA on tap with a more impressive menu. Albacore sandwich was quite good, fries and tater tots good. Upstairs open air patio. Great location, hardly any parking though. Becomes quite the hopping nightclub after hours. Hilariously, I had been here before three years ago with friends who were not interested in beer at all. Would have never pegged this place as a brewpub at the time. Server here was attentive and got all the beers correctly. They had six house beers on tap plus two guest taps. House beers were average, nothing bad but nothing standout. Prices not too steep.

Another quick stop. Actually it wasnít all that quick considering that my phone took us down the side streets to get here from Karl Strauss in La Jolla and there were plenty of red lights and roundabouts. Parking here isnít easy either. We got lucky and found something the next block over but be prepared to hunt for a spot. The upside is that this place is right by the beach so if youíre on the roof top you can look out over the water a bit, or else you can walk to the beach after you leave. The ground floor was completely full of college kids watching the games that were playing, which is fine I guess, so just know what youíre in for. Service was friendly but slow. The chocolate cake was good but the beers were not. It was to be expected. Prices are high too.

I was here with New Yearí s Eve. I had a little beer tasting of 5 beers which was not that special but it was fun. We sit outside which was nice. Good service.
This is a beach-bar with the most patio seating Iíve seen in SoCal to maximize perfect weather enjoyment. They were completely full so I couldnít get a seat out there though. The beers were underwhelming. Very mundane and non-impressive. Seems mostly people coming here to drink swill and get drunk at the beach.
As we walked along the beach, my wife poited out the Sky Bar sign and I saw "Freshest Beer on the Beach" so my cousin and I went in for a sampler. We did not try any food but their Pacific Beach Porter and IPA were excellent.
PB Alehouse is surprising. The old Taylors blew. The food here is good, itís right off the beach, prices are about right for the neighborhood and the beer is surprisingly good. Much better than the old joint and this place needs some real reviews.
Def an alternative to PB Tap Room adn the food is better although it is just house beer. Which ainít horrible. Iíd def go here over Karl Strauss or the Oggiís anyday.
