Pretty low ratings for this place, but I’m not sure why. We visited when the lunch buffet was in full swing, pretty decent food. Large selection for a brewpub - a bunch of their own beers and ciders on a total of 15 taps, plus a few odds and ends from other breweries, and some macro stuff. Overall, worth a visit.
The brewpub has a half-moon shape and was quite well attended when I drop in with fellow ratebeerian Matti about five on a Sunday afternoon. I had a couple of their own ales, both being quite bitter and to my liking. Rather good range of beers, so this is a place that needs to be revisited sometime. Nothing special with neither service nor atmosphere. Most easily accessible directly in from Fredrikinkatu. The ratebeer map does not quite match the terrain (pub crawl in Helsinki, 06.02.2011).
Brewpub located on second level in the Helsinki bus station. I didn’t see any mash tuns or kettles, so maybe the brewing is done on first floor. Little bit of a airport feeling, people just dropping in after some shopping. The second floor in the bus station is a shopping mall.
Big place, quite crowded when we went there and I didn’t like the look/atmosphere all that much too much dark brown or something. Good variety of Bruuveri/Saimaan beers on tap, quite expensive (but...), had the Marskalkka Pale Ale and the Bruuveri Päästäinen, the latter of which was better, both good, but not the best you’ll find in Finland and my friend had the Marskalkka III I think, again ok, but not spectacular. Another place you should go to while in Helsinki, if once.
Quite big place, so it could be very crowded or almost empty. Some Bruuveri/Saimaa brews on tap. It’s changing time to time, so sometimes the selection is rather good, sometimes not. Anyhow it’s good place to get the Bruuveri brews. It’s also expensive and the service is not so good, sometimes even rude.
Not a bad place to sample beers from Bruuveri, but owing to the fact that the place is underground at the base of a shopping centre/bus station, I find it can get a bit depressing at times. Having said that, they usually have plenty of beers on tap and a reasonable selection of bottled beers. It’s handy to drink here when you’re waiting for a bus.
Saimaan Panimo beers are quite rare and this place serves them on tap so big bonus for that. OK ambiance, I like places with different levels or areas. If I remember right the toast I ate was a bit dry and poor for the price. import bottles also available but as said they are a bit expensive. ok service.
