Conveniently located near Piedmont Park in midtown Atlanta, the Park Tavern is easy to find. Parking is adequate, but the lot itself is not paved so it is rather rough. When you enter, the interior is quite inviting - dark but not dim, with simple and rugged decor and furniture making for a nice, laid-back atmosphere that says "comfy neighborhood tavern." Noise level is a bit high, but not unbearable and not too raucous. There are a few TVs, but the sound was off when I visited - apparently they save TV noise for a major event such as the Super Bowl. There is ample seating so the Park Tavern can accommodate a small, intimate gathering or a fairly large one. Waitstaff are alert, helpful, and well-trained. The beer is not terrific, but the Park Tavern is well worth a visit.
Nice location offers skyline view of Atlanta, park, patio, and therefore opportunities for pets. Interior is spacious, cozy, and conducive to conversation with friends. Also has good tvs but isn’t a sports bar. The beers are a little sad, unfortunately, and a few we had were infected. But one happened to be infected in a way that enhanced it!

I actually kind of liked the vibe in here. The beers weren’t too bad, but they were a little weird and rustic. Worth a stop, and I’m sure when the weather is nice that patio is killer stuff.

I have to update, sadly, because the beer has gone badly downhill since my last update, and even worse I couldn’t eat my burger on my last visit! The dollar beer when it rains special keeps the value high, even bad beer is better at $1.
Part of a large park, outdoor tables offer a good relaxing place to have a beer or something to eat when the weather is suitable. Parking is plentiful as it is also for the park. It is important to know to enter downstairs as it was lcoked upstairs. There is a moderate sized bar and some tables inside. Their own taps plus 3 regular macros. The beer was so-so though the unfiltered seasonals, an IPA and a porter, were worth having. Brian is a younger brewmaster, and with a cask and experience, the place will pick up beer-wise.

Problem with service several years ago, but location and atmosphere bring you back. Newer service in the most recent 2 years and recently revamped menu addressed this.
Food is great overall, but a few hit-or-miss items that will hopefully be fixed or removed. The food competes with many other Buckhead / Midtown restaurants. Beer isn’t eccentric / strange, but well-crafted and extremely true to style. Could use more selection of seasonal brews or rotating beer menu for the regular clientelle (3 Flagship brews with 5 seasonals on rotation throughout the year).
Great view of the park, and great atmosphere during Spring / Summer, however: So many special events / wedding receptions / parties during slower seasons that it’s hard to ’drop in.’ Definitely call ahead or check the website and make sure they’re open to the public.
I absolutely love this place. It is great to hang out in the summer time and bring your dog and hangout in the park while drinking a beer and watching people. Even in the winter time to sip a winter beer and sit around the fire piut while enjoying a nice dinner. This a classy place with a great view of the city at sunset.
For a big city "brewpub" you cannot beat the view overlooking Piedmont Park and Midtown Atlanta - if you like cityscapes. The beer needs some work, but it is serviceable. Food is decent. Set in what appears to be an old country or social club - there is plenty of room for socializing. Had a tuna steak for dinner - not bad. Not worth going out of your way for - but if you are in Atlanta for a spell, give it a shot.
Visited this place during the Atlanta Pub Crawl 2005. Beautiful place with forgettable beers and so so service. I ordered a sampler at the bar and they told me I would have to order from my server at the table. The server left my sampler at the table while I was looking the place over and nevr returned to identify what the samples were. I hear the food is good though.
