This is a great little café, nice friendly atmosphere, good service, can get crowded. It has a pretty decent bottle list, a handful of taps, and the distinction in Antwerp of being generally open and staying open quite late on the off chance someone might fancy a beer. Hence, a good one to know.
More or less on the Groeplaats, but covered by scaffolding. Inside is very atmospheric, lots of wood and old mirrors. Downstairs is small, upstairs is bigger. Taplist was just OK. Food looked good as it passed by. Stays open very late, after most other places have closed. Worth a stop.
One of my favourite Antwerp bars. The tap selection is small as is the bar itself, but the bottle selection is much better. Super cosy in the winter and great to sit out front in the summer. Wifi always works and service is always with a smile.
Visited many times in the past, when I first became interested in the great variety of Belgian beers. Efficient - though not always very friendly - service, decent beer list though exclusively Belgian (but with a couple of less common ones, at least back in the day), ’brownish’ atmosphere but usually very busy and crammed with tourists. Kind of a classic in Antwerp I suppose, but now that I had every beer on the list, I’m not that interested in revisiting it anymore - there are more interesting beer destinations in Antwerp these days.
