Very chill, relaxed, and inviting restaurant and brewery in Wicker Park - wide range on customers, from young hipsters to yuppies families and their kids - moderate-sized, U-shaped bar - chill set-up, with a laid-back neighborhood pub feel - not an extensive tap list (about 7 beers), but a decent mix of styles, with America, Belgium, England, and Germany represented - quality is hit or miss - okay prices for the area, and everything is available in a three ounce taster for one buck - some guest beers, but nothing rare or exciting - pizza of moderate quality for mostly fair prices - service was incredibly friendly and attentive - made me feel very at home and welcome - not exactly a beer nerd spot, which is perhaps why I like it - mostly a neighborhood brewery doing its thing and creating a homey environment - I really like it.
Great pizza and beer. A couple of very strong brews (just not available as regularly as I’d like - Camel Toe).
Very crowded and loud. Sometimes difficult to park in the neighborhood. Take advantage of the valet parking.
Piece is a great spot for large groups of people. Their pizza is delicious, and their beer is well above average. The space is beautiful, and the bartenders are very attentive and on-point with their knowledge. On the weekends it get a little full of suburbanites, but what place in a prominent neighborhood doesn’t? I don’t know if I’d put this place on a short list of must-visits if you’re in town touring Chicago craft beer bars, but to have a beer hall of this quality with good pizza in the neighborhood is definitely great.
Great pizza, great beer. What else do you need. Surprisingly large place in the middle of yuppie-ville. Long bar, many long tables crowded together, almost German bier hall style. Sports on the numerous TVs. Smart and attentive waitstaff that is tattoed (bonus!). Seven of their own selections on tap, in a variety of styles. Brewmaster Johnathan a very nice guy--brewing five days a week just to keep ahead of what this one location pours. This place is a must
I had been to this place before but never rated it si upon my return, I definitely felt the same way about this establishment. The atmosphere is alive when you come here, there is always a good crowd, a nice blend of patrons, and even when it is jam packed, the wait was only 30 minutes. The quality of Piece is decent, there on-site beers were a little lacking but they also had guest bottles that made for a great selection. The service here is very fast paced, the staff very knowledgable about theirs beers, and very friendly. The tap selection was a little too bland for my taste, nothing that really wow’d me to death but still better than some places. The food is extremely good, MUST GET THEIR PIZZA, worth every penny spent. The value of the food and beer is a little higher, but you are in chicago. You get decent quality but for a few extra pennines than normal. Overall, I like Piece Brewing and look forward to coming back the next time I am in the Second City.
They have several beers that they make, and then a large number of bottled beers. The pizza is fantastic, and generally pretty cheap. The servers are quick and kind. All in all, definitely a great place to eat and drink.
