Pub on the main "macro beer" street, just a few steps from Rocket Burger. Small interior, picnic tables and restaurant tables outside, some across the street covered with umbrellas. Pizza. They have the majority of the range of Medvedgrad beers. Decent service. Worth a stop.
A pub in the center of the town, owned by Medvedgrad (Mali medo means "little teddy" and Medvedgrad is translated as "Beartown"). They are expanding along the street so they now have a pub, a pizza stand and a beer stockmarket (a special part of pub where the prices of beer rise and drop as you buy/don't buy them). Started as a small pub, it's actually huge now, with terraces all over this crowded street popular with tourists and young generations. The service isn't bad, but can be weird sometimes - bad jokes and cocky attitude. Food is good, although quite expensive and slow. Selection is only Medvedgrad beers on tap.
Ambience is nice, you got to love Tkalciceva for what it is. Mali Medo is a huge pub, value for bottles and tap is great. Whole Medvedgrad range. Service was rather slow and always kinda hurried, beers were not as good as the ones we had at Medvedgrad Ilica. For example, I had their Fakin IPA in both pubs. It was great at Ilica, not that good at Mali Medo.
This venue started as a small venue in one of the city’s busiest streets when it comes to bars. Some time ago they’ve started expanding and now they are one of the biggest bars in the street. Patio is large but looks generic and not pleasant at all.
Service is not that bad when it comes to speed but they don’t seem to know a thing about stuff they are serving. Also on one occasion I got different side dish with explanation side I’ve ordered was gone (both were potato side orders so one has to ask himself what is going on in that kitchen). They didn’t even bother to ask me if it’s OK with me. Anyway the food was quite bad and as far as I’m concerned I’m done with eating there.
They serve standard set of Medvedgrad beers. Which would be more than good for Zagreb if they were in good condition. Unfortunately last time 3 out of 4 beers were not good, and Dva Klasa had a heavy rotten egg smell.
Value is good as in other Medvedgrad pubs especially considering the location.
It’s a shame that a pub at such great location and with lot of potential lacks effort, imagination and sets the quality bar so low. They could do much better and hope they’ll improve over the time.
