Visited early evening (17,00 ish) Friday 08/12. Close to Bulovka tram stop which can be reached in about 5-6 stops from Palmovka (Metro Line B). All tables were reserved although only about one third were occupied. Therefore I sat at the bar for my 2 beers - both the Svetly Lezak 12 & the Tmavy Spezial were i.m.o very good beers, so my experience was still very positive. Recommended but perhaps visit earlier in the day.
Latest visit on August 5, 2017. Actually only one staff member there when we arrived, it did not really fill up during our stay, but at least plenty more patrons arrived. Didn't eat, only sampled 3 different beers, had one each of the favorite we all found, then left. Their APA had HuuuuuuugE amounts of Brett in it, tried to explain to the girl who worked there that perhaps they should get their brewer to sample it, since an APA should perhaps be hoppy and not bretty, bu twe didn't get through. The other two beers held the usual high quality.
Time to update this.
Been here a bunch of times over the years, latest was Saturday May 23, 2015. We got there after lunch, before dinner, Likely was there around 13:00 or 14:00, stayed until 17:00 or so. Always been super busy the other times I’ve visited, not we had a table, and there were empty tables even! Sampled four beers. Was treated to some free Becherovska from the nice girl working the bar too. Smoking is allowed inside, so know that if you have a problem with it. Very genuine, very nice, feels good to be there. Perhaps not for huge parties or without table reservation if you plan on eating or be there during the busy hours. Not very easy to find if you don’t know where to look. Tram stop is Bulovka or some such, tram 3 goes from there straight to the center. Much recommended!
Old rating from 2007: You pretty much have to know where you are going to find this place, but it’s well worth looking for. One of the few non-tourist brew pubs in Prague, nice service and very cosy. Did not try the food. 4/9/7/NA/NA/16=72
Brewpub abit out of the town center. Easy reachable with tram 3 or 10 to Bulovka. Rather dark inside, dark wood brewkedles in the back, etc. 4 beers on tap, wich was fine and fresh. Service rather slow, and more interested in talking to the locals having lunch. No english meny or spoken. didnt eat. No wifi. cheap prices
Not at all hard to find, even though many folks before me said it is. Just take tram 3 to Bulovka. Service was a bit slow, beers where disappointing, especially the Pilsner, which was a DMS bomb (and the server could not recognize it at all). Would like to try again.
Nice place with four tapped beers (I’d recommend jantar, but weiss was very good, too), and food was very good. Horrible service, though, the waitress practically refused to speak English and had some serious attitude. Still, if you’re anywhere near Prague 8 I think it’s the place to go for a bite to eat and some decent beer. Cheap as hell, too, with small glass somewhere around 1€.
Stopped in for a few beers at the brewpub on the northern outskirts of Prague. The brewpub had a class Czech brewery feel with wooden benches and open space. The service was friendly and attentive. They had a fairly good selection of their own beers for the Czech Republic, with a decent variety of styles. The food was quite good, and we enjoyed our meal. As with most places in the country, the value was excellent for the quality. I would be happy to go back there for another visit, especially as they seem to rotate the beers they have on draft.
