Visited on Saturday 19/04/14. 6/7 minute walk from the sea front, place was chocka block, we’d already eaten and just managed to squeeze on the end of a bench and admire some tasty pizzas being demolished all around us.
Solid tap list, largely PP plus local guests, beware aliased beers, i came a cropper on duplicate rates Mangosaurus and T-Rex!!
Service was great bearing in mind how busy they were. Good time beer & pizza - Will definately head back here. Cost $17 in a taxi from old town tram station.

What’s not to like? Friendly super casual feel, very communal, and a very effect and value-laden pizza in the fat base / through every thing at it style. The small will be plenty for most ($8). Can’t add a lot to the beer remarks other than for an Australian you will have no problems paying $5 for a pint of Alesmith IPA (just one of many examples). This style of place could be my next project post Slowbeer and 2 Row.
Last stop of the afternoon. Typical Pizza Port feel with lots of tables all over the place, brewing system in the corner and a large kitchen in the back. Atmosphere was already pretty hopping with a good amount of people enjoying their pizza lunches. Service was great. She was very helpful in picking some beers for my sampler, offering some suggestions on what I should get. Quality was great like all of the other locations. Selection was a bit better than when we visited Carlsbad. Maybe not as many exciting beers on but I think they had a better verity of styles on to choose from. Plenty of guest taps as well if you are looking for something different. No food this time as we had just eaten at Stone. Prices were very reasonable, especially the lunch special they offer which was a killer deal. Overall a really awesome Pizza Port location, glad we made the trip over to check it out.
Saturday night was crazy parking and seating, but I wouldn’t think it would be dead. Great food and great Port taps with guest taps. I end up talking with brewer on hand and hooked me up with tasters. Great brews and staff.
OB! Totally cool place. Of course being a block away from the beach doesn’t hurt. They had a good variety, and some nice guest taps. Only had a slice of pizza which was good bar pizza, but had a decent menu. The people there will all nice and very chill. Loved this place.
We visited 23.12.2013. Another great Pizza Port place. Compact, small brewery to the left - there is a bar directly in front! Next to the right, the beer bar, ~25 own beers and ~20 guest beers. Next is the Pizza station. Typical Pizza Port beer table and benches. Beers and Pizza great as in other locations. Still prefer the Carlsbad place, however this one comes close.
What a nice oasis away from the sketchy ass bums and stink eye tweakers along the beach boardwalk and pier. We walked over and sat down and felt comfortable, safe and right at home. Man o man, where was this place when I lived in OB? That would have been nuts. I started home brewing beer living in OB in ‘93 since there was no good beer anywhere except some of what Karl Strauss was up to. Great small place with a bit of street side patio dining and the typical Pizza Port picnic table seating inside. We had the 8yr old with us and this place is very kid friendly. He was being kind of loud and obnoxious (even more than I was) and no one noticed and soon more and more kids piled in here. Great pizza, great atmosphere, amazing beer (I just want to try absolutely everything they make) but parking can be a tad rough and then there’s the tweakers. All in all I plan to be back each and every trip back to SD.
Located in a neighborhood called ocean beach, its close enough to the ocean that you can smell it from the entrance. There was plenty of street parking the night I went. The interior has kind of a surf shop feel with a vey tiny bar. They had 20-25 various pizza ports on tap as well as a lot of other locals. The food was very good and reasonably priced and the service was attentive. The beers I had were all pretty good. I love pizza but most izza places have crap beer selections. It’s great to come to a place like this that does both well.
Located blocks from the ocean, this place is a must stop for some beers and pizza. The beer selection of house beers and guest taps is fantastic. Pretty much everything was of extremely high quality from what we sampled. Pizza was kickass, with a lot of variety, veggie / vegan options, as well as salads if you don’t want pizza. Service was quite good - nothing amazing. Prices are normal. An absolute must stop when in San Diego for beer and pizza.
