Awesome selection of beers in a true So Cal surfer bar/pizza joint. This place is awesome. Pizza is awesome. Bought bottled SPF 45 and a growler of Santa’s Little Helper. Staff allowed me to try all of their brews, most for free.
What a disappointment. After all the hype, I was quite suprised to find a Chuck E Cheese atmosphere with kids all over the place and only 4 beers (Pizza Port) on tap. The beer was decent, and we did not eat. This place was WAY over sold.

Great place. The beers are the best in San Diego. Great selection all the time. I like the pizza there too. Can’t wait to go back again and again and again.

A drunken party/picnic atmosphere with helpful-fun employees. Oh, great beer!
This rating is from a visit I made back in March of 2003. The place is really small, at least compared to the other two Pizza Ports, but they make the best beer here, or at least they did while Tomme Arthur was the sole brewer. The pizza and portzels were quite tasty. Selection includes a half dozen or so PP brews and another half dozen guest beers. A cool place to hang out and grab some very good beer.
This place is considerably smaller than carlsbad. We stopped here next on my bachelor party/pub crawl. When we got here, you could barely walk in to order pizza. We had to stand out on the curb. They kicked us down two pitchers of Lou P. Lin for the party and I must say a very huge "thank you!" for that. We decided not to hang out too long though because there was no where to sit or drink, and the line for pizza was out the door. Still, an absolute MUST to see and drink the so cal way.
I gave a 20 overall rating because of the beer! The service was horrible! They lost our pizza order and then didn’t get the order right when they finally made it. We went back a second time though when it was less busy (for the beer) and the service was better. It’s hard to rate their service since everything is self serve. You have to order, and pay for, your food and beers at separate registers which is a real pain. OK, enough grumbling about the service. I still highly recommend the place for the beer. I had the Hop 15, Lou P. Lin, and SPF 45. All were excellent! Also brought home a Mother of All Beers for myself and a Cuvee do Tomme for a friend.
A classic laid back beach hang out, complete with surf boards and local surfers, and only a short distance from the beach. Always some great beers, and occasionally some special tomme stuff. Great pizza as well. Worth a trip from even a distance, the solana beach pizza port is a must for anyone remotely near by.

Overall rating is so high because, quite simply, this is the best beer you will find at any brewpub in the U.S. The food is good but secondary to the amazing quality of beer that comes out of their brewhouse.
This was one of my favorite stops on my SD trip. Even if beer isnt on the agenda the food is very good. A good tap selection of Pizza Port brews and a few other local micros. A small place with a good atmosphere. A must visit
