Nice bar, with a modern style when you walk in. The staff is knowledgeable about the 50 rotating taps, sometimes changing daily. There are weekly beer events, whether it be a limited release cask, a glassware giveaway, or special liquor release. Can get a little crowded with the college party crowd on weekend nights. And they now have beer brewed in house!
Had the Tally tasting here. Great bar, although was very loud for the World Cup. The craft beer bar has college kids. Interesting. Anyway, the ambiance is like an upscale beer bar with lots of open space for milling. The service was Johnny-on-the-spot and was very cool. Great taps and selection including Jai Alai and Maduro from CCB. Seems like they have some of the best beer in Tally. If I was around Tally, I would hang out here.
Proof is the best beer bar in Tallahassee. Thirty or so taps that are rotated regularly. They have done well to bring in newly available micros and hard to find one offs. My only complaint is the same as many others: it’s in the college area. After about ten o’clock I have to get out of there. Luckily (or unluckily) my opportunities to drink come earlier in the evening and at that time Proof is spacious and comfortable. One suggestion: open at noon on weekends. There is no place in town with good taps that opens during the day. Me and the old lady need a place to get some good brew before hitting the early bird special at the sizzler.

I liked the downstairs v. the upstairs - but then I’m an old man not trying to pick up grad students. The service is first rate. The selection is really good, they try to collaborate with other regional microbrewers, so there’s no telling what’s on tap at a given moment. It’s right next door to the bottle shop, which is a plus. Parking is tight - I didn’t realize that they had the back parking lot for a long time. This is a place that I need to get to on a more frequent basis, but it’s just inconvenient to my usual trafficking. If you’re in town for an FSU game, on a party weekend, then it’s a must.
Fairly non-assuming and small looking building located near the FSU campus. The crowd on a Saturday night mostly consisted of college students or twenty something year olds. The upstairs area that we went to (apparently there’s a downstairs?) was quite modern and trendy. Certainly has a lounge feel to it. The selection of their own beer and other fairly common microbrews was excellent. They had about a dozen of their beers on tap as well as a couple guest taps. At least 20 microbrew bottles. Service was just normal, nothing special. Their prices are pretty good. Most beers were $5. Overall this is definitely a must visit if in the area.

Pretty much the place to come in Tallahassee, 29 Taps of all craft except for the occasional Coors Light. Bartenders are great and know their beer, the only issue is parking and the location makes it difficult to get in and out.
By far the best selection in Tallahassee, anything that the town gets Proof will have. Wednesday $3 Pints are a great way to get something you like on discount, they have Arrogant Bastard on that every once and a while, always makes for a good night.
They get things that other places in town just don’t get. Proof has had a number of imitators pop up in town but they are still one of the best. Sometimes late at night it gets way too crowded with the undergrad taint, but earlier in the evenings is wonderful.
EDIT: Sometimes things that are "rare" in Tallahassee can get a bit pricey, and once again, you need to come early if you want to enjoy a pint without being bumped up against drunken coeds.
Best beer bar in Tallahassee. Stopped here to try beers I couldnt get at home and the bartenders were very helpful by letting me sample several beers. The selection was amazing with some rarities and BAs. Unique how its connected to a liquor store. If you are in Tallahassee you must stop here for a few.
Half lounge, half liquor store. Stopped in early on a week night. Relatively quiet, just a few locals. Bartender was less than engaging, but the price for a round of beers was a pleasant surprise; must have some stellar happy hour specials. Had the IPad with me, but the bar’s WiFi required a password that seemed to be top secret.
Went next store and grabbed a few bombers for later. Good selection, attentive staff.
