Best, smoke-free selection in Tallahassee. New tap selections rotate in weekly to complement about 20 regular tap offerings. More Belgians than macros on tap. Wealth of American micros on tap. Plenty of bottle selections. Most are very reasonably priced. Liquor available for non-beer drinkers. Atmosphere can be upscale or collegiate. TVs to watch, but typically music playing from the speakers. Shares space with Liquor Loft store allowing customers to pick-up a 6-pack of what they’ve just enjoyed on their way out.
The widest beer selection in the area. 28 taps with only a single macro (Bud Light or PBR) most of the time. Stone, Cigar City, and Oskar Blues are regular taps along with a wide assortment of Belgians, other American craft beers, and some Brit imports. It’s smoke-free and has large flat screens for sports fans. Depending on the day and time the vibe can be a beer lover’s haven or a college pickup joint or something in between. Byron and Angela go the extra mile for customers so if there’s something you want but don’t see, ask. If it’s available in Florida they’ll try to get it for you.
28 taps, a chill atmosphere, awesome pint specials and a bottle selection of about 200....what more could you want? Throw in an extremely knowledgeable staff and your beer always being poured into proper glassware and this place cant be beat! They also have market launch parties for local breweries and 100% legit cask ale nights with stuff like triple dry hopped ruination or Christmas spiced improv from CCB. Prices are great and even better on kill-the-kegs wed. where you can get EXTREME deals on some draft options ( I had cup’o kyndness for 3 dollars a pint) See for yourself you wont regret it.
Great bar consisting of 28 taps and a friendly staff. My choice place to visit after work for a great brew. Always new beers on tap that seem to rotate weekly. Also plenty of great bottles to chose from. When available they host some awesome cask ale nights found nowhere else in town.
Proof is a great little bar tucked away in a mess of FSU’s college bar scene. Brewery on site, that knocks out some superb brews, esp their Rye. Liquor store attached that sells almost zero macro, and a medium sized craft selection, but the selection is well varied. I frequent here several times a week. If you’re not of college age, don’t worry. The college crowd doesn’t show up until pretty late (9ish); so you easily find a seat and a bartender to chat beer with. Most of the staff is knowledgeable about most beer styles, and they certainly know the beers brewed in house.
If you are either visiting or simply stuck in Tallahassee, this is the best beer bar in town. Most of the staff know their beer and are typically friendly and welcoming. The 28 taps rotate pretty regularly and there is a good selection of bottles as well. A lot of cask and other special beer events happen on a pretty regular basis. A second RateBeer tasting is coming up soon.
Proof leads the way and sets the standard in Tallahassee. The only downside...it can get quite crowded later at night and, given its proximity to FSU, become something of a college bar but if that helps bring in special beers and keep prices reasonable, then it is well worth it. Then again, that might be to some folks liking. That is one of the nice things about Proof, it has a pretty eclectic crowd and is a fav of many different groups of folks.
No food but a number of places will deliver and the staff have menus available.

50 taps, +\- 600 bottled beers, and a very good liquor selection. Definitely not your typical college town bar. The bartenders use correct glassware, are extremely knowledgeable, and are always willing to help patrons discover new brews.
Proof definitely has a great beer selection at a very good price. However, the ambiance is not for adults. If you haven’t grown up since your college days and you are still walking around in flip flops at 25 then this is the place for you. If you are comfortable getting up every time you want a drink and then reaching over the planted bar patrons shuttling one beer at a time to a friend like the old college days then this is really a great place. Definitely understaffed at times.
Without a doubt the biggest and best selection of beers in town. 50 taps that can include anything your taste buds desire. Its great to see a bar right smack in the middle of a college town with such a deep tap list. On the weekends and late at night this place can be packed out, but if you’re looking for a chill atomosphere be sure to check out their happy hour 5-7pm($1 off drafts, wines, liquors) any day of the week. No food available in the bar, but they allow you to bring in your own. Service is great, and staff is very knowledgeable about the beers on tap. Parking is a bit tight but you can park at the Chick-Fil-A or Starbucks next door. Also be sure to try the house brews, they’re world class.

Best bar to go to when i went to college at FSU. Great selection on tap that rotates weekly, knowledgeable staff, and great prices. The kind of place that you know is going to be packed on the weekends but has a relaxed atmosphere during the off days. Oh, and of course the breweries that they have been able to bring in for tap takeovers, glassware giveaways, etc. has never dissapointed. Can’t wait to fly down to visit and see the new downstairs brew pub!

Proof is definitely the place to go for beer geeks in Tallahassee. Great selection and beers rotate pretty regularly. The modern atmosphere is really nice and usually attracts a good crowd but weekends are packed with college students and loud music.
