A throw back tiki bar restaurant with a huge patio over looking the river and a tiki themed inside (waterfall included). Service is solid and is oriented toward their extensive cocktail list. Selection is local crafts and nothing to write home about. Food is good and the price point is as well. A unique place to visit, but not a beer destination.
Visited for a late brunch on a Sunday. We arrived via boat, and loved the ample dock space provided. Suzi’s is a sprawling, Tiki themed bar/restaurant that is mostly famous for its great river view patio. The internal is fun as well, though the action is on the patio. As others have mentioned, this is not a beer destination, though they did have Surly, Indeed, Steel Toe and Third Street on draft when I visited. Brunch was great, everything was super tasty. Service was fine, about what you would expect for a big party during brunch rush. I had a great time, would definitely recommend finding a friend with a boat to do the river approach.
64 = ★★ (Just ok)
I only use the total score, not the component parts.
Not really a beer place, per se. It’s more about the cocktails and quirky atmosphere. Still there are a few good things on the beer menu and the bartender was relatively friendly and knowledgable. Never been to a bar that wouldn’t call for a cab though - that doesn’t even seem safe.
Very unique little place on the river. Great atmosphere, back patio overlooking the Mississippi looks very cool - wish it was better weather right now to enjoy that! Food is mostly pizza, burgers, sandwiches. All seemed reasonably priced. Beer selection is mostly locals on tap, and in cans and bottles. About 16 total taps plus maybe 20 or so cans/bottles. Definitely worth a stop in if you are in the area!
I liked this place a lot more in the smaller location. Drinks are typically pretty strong and on the expensive side. The food is usually what I go for, service is lacking in the new building.
The upstairs area had some decent prices on craft beer, had some Surly and Dragon’s Milk.
A little surprised to see this place on Ratebeer places but the good news is you can get a Two Hearted or w Sweet Child o Vine for cheap during happy hour and enjoy one of the best patios around while doing it. Psycho’s new location features s patio likely twice the size of the old one and is right on the river. You really could do a lot worse. Deserves a score of 90 as a happy hour place for ambiance, but more like a 60 when you factor in the limited beer selecton, which is really what we’re here for, right?
Except for their prices this is one of those bars that you can imagine yourself chill-axing with your friends and feeling "hip" as you do it. The little pizzas are crazy good. The bar staff are super cool too. I think they moved down the street to Grumpy’s old location. The coziness of the old A&W building was great. Somehow I think I should genuflect before I sit down now. It’s weird but that kitchyness has been Psycho Suzi’s style from the get go. I love tiki-bars.
I love this place - just a cool vibe. Tiki everything, patio overlooking the river. Not a ton of really good beers on tap, but they have a few decent ones (Bells Two Hearted, Surly Furious/Bender/Cynic, some Rush River, Flat Earth, and Dark Horse). The food rocks, and the tiki drinks are served in cool glasses (deposit required, or you WILL steal these glasses!).
Now that they moved to there new location it is awesome. They have three bars upstairs and they all serve different things. If you are looking for a pretty good beer selection I would go to the shrunken head bar. We went downstairs when It slowed down a little bit to have dinner and it was really good. They service was pretty good. I had a fun time here and I will go again for sure!!
