A little pricey and not well laid out. Moderate bottle selection but most of it is common craft beers found at your local grocery store. Best thing about this bar, Victory Golden Monkey on tap.

From the way this place looks I was really surprised it was a sit down restaurant. It manages to combine the look of a dive bar while also being family friendly. The food is the best element of the place, however it’s on the over priced side. However, their bottled beer selection is really impressive and they also have a lambic on tap which you don’t see too much of in Tallahassee. I’d definitely go again.

This is an "every once in a while" place for us. The food is pretty good, but inconsistent. Usually there to grab a few pints though - not too many places to do that in this area of town. Tap selection is pretty standard stuff, but there are usually a couple I’d attempt. Decent size selection of bottles - again with a mix of standard crafts and macros. The staff are always very nice, but generally don’t know much about the beer. In fact - the menu doesn’t list brewery names and sometimes makes it confusing to figure out what they actually have - server has to go check each time. Also - it’s pretty much been the same selection every time I’ve been. Overall though - if you like the food, it’s a good place for a decent bite and a few good beers. Oh - and no iced mugs for the craft brews please.

This place has the best beer selection of any restaurant in Tallahassee. Unfortunately the service and food preperation is extremely slow. The bottle menu is diverse, but very static. I haven’t noticed any major changes in it for over 3 years. The lady that runs the kitchen is a little scary. When I was there one night she followed a server out of the kitchen screaming and cussing at them. Some old guy behind the bar tried to calm her down, but she was very angry and seemed like she wanted to get violent. When I asked our server who the angry lady was we were told that it was the owner’s wife and that she does that kind of thing all the time. Our server joked that at least she wasn’t throwing things this time. Not so sure that was a joke.

Great food with decent beer selection. Rustic decor with plenty of seating. Enjoyed sitting outside on the deck. Worth checking out for dinner.

How could I have forgotten about this place? Thanks to Mark for adding it!

A dimly lit somewhat small place with outdoor seating. Plain and almost like a dive bar, which is kinda nice, really.

Crachety old waitresses that call you "hon," but really keep your glasses filled and your food fresh. Not much beer knowledge, but hey, it’s a restaurant.

Decent selection for Tallahassee, but don’t expect anything you haven’t had if you’re from the area.

The food is pretty darn good, but don’t expect gourmet. If you want a fried up pile of beef, potatoes, cheese, etc. - step on up!

Average prices.

Overall, don’t make it a "must see" beer stop when in Tallahassee, but if you want some good old down home cookin’ and want a couple of good brews to wash it down, definitely consider this place.

Ray’s is often overlooked by beer geeks but it has the advantage of being the only restaurant in the area with a really good beer selection. It has a somewhat rustic atmosphere with a small bar that seats maybe ten people inside the front door along with a larger dining area and outside smoker’s deck. The beer list includes American craft beers, British and European imports, and the usual BMC. Food is pretty good and runs from bar food to more upscale offerings. Many items are Pittsburgh-style comfort food since that’s where the owner is from originally. The most often heard complaint about Ray’s is kitchen and service slowness, but it states on their menu and web site that they make everything from scratch and have a small kitchen so your food will take awhile to prepare. Use the wait time to chat with friends and try another beer.
