There now, so visited on August 8, 2013.
A fair treck up Elizabeth from the center of Hobart. Located on your right if coming from the city.
8 taps with nothing very interesting on, around 100 bottles or so, could see a few Oz beers I hadn’t tried there.
Fast friendly service, but didn’t know much about the bottles when I asked for only Australian ones. Didn’t eat, but can see many that do even fairly late in the evening. Friendly atmosphere.
Not sure it is worth the walk when you can pop into New Sydney or Tattersalls, or head down to Salamanca, but if you’re around by all means stop by. On the way towards The Winston which is my next planned stop. They have a stage and I did see a sign outside about entertainment, nothing right now though. Some soft music from speakers. Entertainment about to start now, a guy with an acoustic guitar and a microphone, so far only sound check.
Beer garden in the back with plenty of seats, can’t see the mens toilet even though there’s a sign for the ladies, will continue my search for it.
Found it! Around a little wall in one corner.
Some of the patrons tonight looked to be from a bikers club, or perhaps jail, but I guess some would say the same about me.
Free WiFi rocks!

Definitely one of the better pubs in Hobart. Good selection of local beers (I recommend the Little Creatures) plus a few foreign ones. Live music every night of the week, and had a great atmosphere the night I was there. I’ll definitely be heading back before I leave Tassie.

I noticed this was just added to the database. My wife and I were here 2 years ago. Very casual atmosphere with TONS of locals (on Fridays do not expect to get a seat unless you arrive early), but everyone was very friendly. Food was excellent quality and value as I recall. Beer selection was decent with about a half-dozen taps of local product and several dozen others in bottles. I remember that I tried Gage Roads IPA here for the first time here. Live music Fridays and Saturdays gets the place full and rockin!
