Small place with a very friendly, funny staff. Locals were very welcoming and friendly. Few barrels as tables and a small bar with few seats. Fits 20 comfortably. Relaxed atmosphere. Beer was great with about 15 taps or so.
So the beer here is good and there is a large selection and wide range of styles. However, the staff are kind of full of themselves, at least on the night I visited. They do have food trucks stop by and offer tasty morsels to the crowds, but my time here will be limited as long as they employ the same folks.
Kind of a smaller place, good beer. Hard to compare with the other breweries in the area. Friendly staff, only serve their beers. Nothing bad to say about the place, it’s just in an area with so many great places that kind of take away from Rip Current.
One of my favorite places during our stay in the San Diego area. Loads of their own beers and you can have them all in small tasting glasses. Beers were held in very good condition and some of them were really small batches. Food from the truck outdoors was really nice. We were even given a brewery tour by Chris (stawn). Huge thanks for that!
Got here at a pretty busy time, 5pm on a Friday. There’s 30 people in here and the seating options might handle 20. So it isn’t cramped but there’s no place to go and relax and enjoy their offerings. There are a few barrels used as tables and the bar area for seating. Overall a pretty small space. The staff was friendly, funny and efficient. I see a 15 to 20BBL brew house off to the left along with the fermenter farm and bright tanks that are basically in the tasting area space (or the tasting area space is in the brew house area). On the opposite wall is a floor to ceiling vintage beer can display with lots and lots of interesting looking cans. There’s a nice atmosphere here, patrons are friendly and I love the tiny tulip shaped taster glasses. I tried two hoppy beer offerings and they were stellar. Wow! I need to come back.
Really chill warehouse brewery tasting room. About 20 taps of the house beer, most of them quite good and no real misses. Samplers available in 5 oz snifters. Of the handful of breweries I went to in the San Marcos/Vista area, this one was my favorite.
Another stop in my quest to visit every brewery in San Diego County. This is in the "golden triangle" of SM/Vista. It’s a feat to visit more than 3-4 of these places in Vista in one day. Rip Current is poised to move into the upper ranks of the San Diego breweries. Super IPA’s? Check. Great porters and stouts? Check. Massive wall of a beer collection? Check. Skip many of the lower tier San Marcos/Vista breweries, and spend the time here.
