The beer at this establishment is good, and consistent. I have yet to find something that I thought was "bad" or even "fair" in their pub beers. The brown ale I tried, which is not a favorite style of mine, was fantastic. The food is decent, as is the service. It is in old town, so parking can be rough.
A large brewpub with a good number of TV screens and a large bar in the middle. Service was fine, the server was aware of the few beers that were not available and able to answer questions. Selection was nice with 14 available and up to 16 possible. Food was solid if not outstanding and prices were fair. I am glad I stopped in and would definitely stop back.
Stopped on a wednesday night, mostly full of regulars I set up shop at a barstool and was immediately greeted by Melissa a nice friendly bartender who was very attentive, offering 8 samples for 9.50 i think is a very fair price, their beers were okay their chicken tenders and home made mashed potatoes were awesome. the food was very good and fairly large portions. everything is home made here and it shows. they make some decent beer and some ho hum beer. A cool place in old town thats worth a stop.
Good overall place - I make sure to stop here each time I visit Wichita. Beer quality is above average, with a decent selection - about 6 resulars plus 3 seasonal/specials. Food is above average also, especially for a brewery. Prices are very resonable.
In business since 1993, River City has kept its mission clearly in view. The many craft beers brewed here are generally fine - this latest visit, I had the Old Snortin’ Norton, created by brewer Daniel Norton as his 1,000th beer. We keep coming back, everytime we’re near Wichita.
Excellent service. Food was fine. Lots of special pricing. Beers were average at best. Being from Kansas I wanted to rate this place higher, but just couldn’t.

Typical downtown brewpub in an "olde area" in the US. Seems a bit uninspired. Beer list runs from light to IPA to a stout. The only special was an imperial red. Dead bar on a Thursday afternoon. From what I’ve heard the original owners are gone. Not one to seek out.
River City is a small little brewpub situated in the middle of Wichita’s Old Town District. For all intents and purposes, you would expect the restaurant to deliver great beer, however ours was simply average. The IPA, which we had heard good things about, was rather disappointing. The standout beer for me was the Rock Island Red, though even it was only slightly above mediocre. However, the food was very good, and the service was prompt, though we had some typical problems with a new server who was working. Not worth planning a trip around, though I’d like to go back when there’s a seasonal on the menu that tickles my fancy.
