Quick stop on the way to the Hill. Rock Art gets a bit of a bad rep among locals, but its not bad at all. This is a perfectly good space, tasting room with sample pours for about $1.50 apiece. Staff was helpful and friendly. Beer was decent overall. Worth a visit.
Stopped in on my NE tour last summer. Hey a tickers got to get ticks. Nice little place very friendly staff. The had a nice selection on the board tasters and full pours good price. They also have some bottles or cans to go along with other random stuff like syrup jams and treats.
Funny how we ended up here...driving from Hill Farmstead to the new Alchemist Brewery in Stowe...this is the way the GPS took us. We did not have Rock Art on our itinerary...after Alchemist we were going to Fiddlehead...but if you are a true craftbeer lover...and especially also a craftbeer traveler...you love the magic of happenstance...and if you travel as much as I do for craftbeer...it fortunately happens more than occasionally. This was one of those times...we "accidentally" found ourselves driving past Rock Art and both of us noticed it...or at least had brain recognition about 50 years "after" we’d passed it. Well...like I said...not on our agenda...but hard to pass a perfectly good brewery you "accidently" find you self in front of by dumb luck! We were going for a quick stop...but the staff was great...and because of them we stayed longer...tried more beers...and enjoyed more conversation. Honestly...Rock Art makes some good beers and some very good beers...but I wouldn’t rank them as a top tier northern VT brewer...but they are a very solid second level player. If in the area definitely stop in (and Lost Nation nearby)...enjoy the beers...but especially enjoy the staff and the conversation which made it for us!
Another solid spot in Morrisville. large parking. Welcomed by very pleasant service. When ordering samples you will be explained of style etc. This is good for newer to craft folks. When noticed my rating book I was offered to speak with brew master. Samples are at 1 S each. Great value as beers were accurate and to the style. perhaps tad on safe side, but we need such as well.
Called here mid November, on the way to HF. Pulled up just after opening and so got to drink beer for breakfast, basically! Very friendly, knowledgeable staff member, who was juggling phone calls, filling shelves, and chatting to, and serving us, very efficiently. Dollar pours. Solid beers. Nice seating area looking over the brewery. A must visit really.
Visited 7-11 and one other time during my stay as it was close AND open at 9 am. Heck yea! Flight samplers are available, I think it was 4 for 4 bucks. Service was top notch each time and we felt welcomed. Even give you oyster crackers with your flight. Selection of beers was solid, as were the bottle options. Black Currant Saison was one of my favorites and was only like 4 bucks for a bomber. There’s value! I did get a BA Impy Stout and I think it was 9 bucks or somewhere around there. Still very good. Solid place to go, especially for tourists in a hotel room who can’t sleep and their primary reason for being in town is beer. By the time you finish here many of the local taphouses and other breweries are open, so this is a nice starter.
Very industrial brewery. they contract brew for a few places. they have an extensive tasting room loaded with weird VT Gift Shop stuff like cutting boards in the shape of vermont state. There’s not really a tour. you can go up stairs and check out a nice view of the brewery. Not a bad stop for ticking. The to-go beers are very cheap.
Randomly drove by here so I thought I’d stop in. Retail shop with a bar. Fairly bright. Samples available at $1 per sample (per 4 or 8). Beers were typical boring, but well crafted save one. Bottles available are cheap with the exception of the barrel aged stuff. They do not sell the 12 ounce bottles as singles. They also did not have the black currant saison, even though it was advertised outside the brewery, which is a shame because I LOVE currants. Bartenders were both nice and helpful. Dog friendly. Decent place.
If you like their beer, visit this place. They have a lot of varieties on tap and they’re reasonably priced for a pour. Unfortunately I can’t imagine anyone liking the beer as it is really bad, especially with so many other great selections in Vermont.
