A destination spot north of San Fran that is a must stop... The building is an ugly shade of blue, located in a strip mall. Inside is much bigger than anticipated, thought it would be more homely. Awesome decorations of old beer signs that you see on American Pickers... 15 beers on tap, 6 brew pub only, then of course pliny and temptation, supplication, consecration and sanctification. Great prices, and even better on tap then in the bottle... Ok bar food, nothing is a must try, get a snack and head to Flavor Bistro... Service was horrible, long wait times, one server knew nothing about beer, couldn’t even tell us batch certain sours were, another was a smart ass. Great time though!
Awesome sampler set here! 15 different varieties including some sours as well. Food was good. Service was pretty bad... Employees made you feel like you were bothering them to ask for anything. I don’t expect a lot, so I was put off by the attitude that everyone seemed to have. Probably wouldn’t go back.
Really there are very few places id rather be drinking. If my house was this place, id rather be there... the food is perfect pub fair, the beer is beyond legendairy and the noise is loud enough that you really have to shout... which is perfect. love it love it love it
Loved the place! The locals sitting at the bar were friendly. Food was great. Bartenders were friendly. And I got to drink fresh Pliny the Elder on tap! What more can you ask for? I’ll be back next year!
(Visited 01/2011): Made the drive from Larkspur to Santa Rosa to visit Russian River. It is located in the Cherry Street Historic District on 4th Street. Parking seems to be pretty much metered street parking in the immediate vicinity.
The brewpub was packed on a Tuesday evening during the OSU/ Arkansas Sugar Bowl. The bar is along the left side of the space, with table seating elsewhere. TVs are located around the bar, and there is a large chalkboard listing the current beers.
As for those beers, thank goodness for the chalkboard because the list is pretty extensive, and they have one of the largest sampler paddles I have ever seen, segmented by style and bottle cap markers. Several of their flagship beers are readily available such as the IPA and Blind Pig, and on our visit they also had goodies like Redemption, Rejection, Mortification, Perdition, Consecration, OVL, Little White Lie and Dead Leaf Green. All of the beers were top notch. They also sell bottles to go.
Service during the busy bowl game was better than expected. The bartenders knew their stuff and were on top of their game. One of them even snuck us sips of Younger out of the fermenter. Awesome.
Russian River’s food is fairly standard brew pub food. Our pizza was good.
Overall this place is highly recommended and I would make it a point to visit again on any return trip.
Came here for lunch. Located in down town Santa rosa. Pizza was excellent, beer were amazing and the sampler was generous. Lots of families with kids inside and an alternative looking crowd for the most part. Staff was mainly, high, curt, and akward. Wasn’t crazy about the atmosphere but I didn’t come to sing koombaya.
If you are anywhere near the Bay Area, you’ll need to stop in and have a few beers at the Mecca.
You’ll often see Vinnie and Natalie running through - always busy but they do ake a moment to say hello.
They only have RRBC beers but when you make the best beers in the world - what else do you need.
Bathrooms are surprisingly skanky, food is very good, place is pretty cool.
The beer is way out over the top super fantastic.
