Nicely located along Belvedere, Salm Brau has four house beers that are very nicely brewed. Wooden interior with stone bar and copper fittings and dimmed lights. Pleasant outdoor garden too. Staff are fast and efficient. Excellent.
It was very convenient to find this place when we very going to the Gustav Klimt exhibition at Belvedere. The Salm Bräu is, in fact, located next to the entrance to the palace. First there is a nice and well-kept biergarten with stone slabs before entering the pub and the brewhouse. There were six draught beers, and I tasted four of them. Fresh, clean, and decent brews that were quite alright, without being outstanding in any way. Polite service from barmaids dressed in nice costumes. Busy place on a Saturday afternoon (visited with frau Eva, 28.07.2012).
Great Austrian food with lots of meat, 5 kinds of reasonably tasty beer, nice beer garden atmosphere. A good place, right next to Bellevedere Palace. The beer is not terribly exciting, but all varieties are well-made, and the happy hour is fantastic: all beers half-price. I really enjoyed the food I had here. Visited many times in 2006.
English-speaking, friendly staff work at this rather well-put, surprisingly small place that keeps the allures of large german kellers. The beers were quite good as well. Rather authentic and close to the center. So if you got at least 2-3 days in Vienna, head there.
Nice brewpub with a small beer garden. Nice traditional interior, and the food are really good, and a good value. Great service , even at busy times. A must visit place, when in Vienna. ps. The toilets are top notch
A nice beer hall with a patio. Busy and quite large. Touristy and slow service as well as arrogance that to have their only special, the chilli beer you have to have a litre! Needless to say I did not bother as it as the start of a massive crawl and chilli beer not my favourite style but I would have tried 300ml. Probably no loss as their Pils, Weizen and Dunkel were all very ordinary.
