Visited on a Monday lunchtime, Oct ’10 (DM’s 40th bash).
Despite being rather a crisp day we sat outside to escape the cigarette smoke which I see another reviewer has touched on!
Only 2 or 3 other drinkers but all chain smoking!
Tiny building like a summer house/small sports changing room - which does have a toliet btw! They claim to be the smallest brewpub in Deutschland.
The brewing kit is inside the pub and the brewer was working while we were there on some form of bock I believe.
Only 2 of their own beers availble on our visit the Dunkel and Helles.
Beers were adequate - service decent.
Worth a look in.
Excellent place! 6 brews (including one brewed by ancient Babylonian recepie!) all are real good. Place itself is very small & very unusual, but very good, and the brewery they have is the smallest one I have ever seen!
Also spelled Kopenick...Great place! It’s literally a glass box set in the middle of a village square. Totally worth a visit if you have the time, it’s easy to get to on the transport--just check the bus schedule to/from Berlin. In spite of being a glass box, it’s got an old school vibe inside with old men. Smoking bar. Not much English spoken, and they said they only had hell and dunkles but then we pointed the Good Beer Guide and she understood we were also interested in their weirdo beers (which they make many) and they had a few of those on tap too. The weirdo beers included Kirsch, Babylonian Beer, and Rauchbier! And they were pretty good, too. So much fun.
Excellent brewpub, direct on the square, could be taken for a greenhouse, but is actually one of Germanys smallest brewpubs. I catched a tram at Adlershof S bahn station, just a 10 minutes short ride brings you to Køpenick. 6 beers on tap, some untraditional as well, I liked the Bock best.
Visited on the 20/12-2012.
Placed a bit outside the city center, just at the local town square. We were very pleased to be able to have a seat, the pub is very small, also very pleased to see they had 6 of their own beers on tap.. BUT not pleased with, that smoking was allowed inside as well. Spoiled the stay a bit, I must say. Very friendly staff, cosy atmosphere among the guests, many seemed to be locals. Would love to come back again, in summertime, so we can be seating outside..
Strangle little glass place, all on its own in a square out in Coepenick (the square is called Schlossplatz, because of the Schloss across the road!).
Small and modern, clean and tidy, certainly different from your normal, traditional German brewpub. Enough room for 15 people at a guess. Claims to be the smallest brewery in Germany, it is certainly the smallest I’ve been in.
The staff were friendly, it was a quiet Sunday afternoon when we visited, bitterly cold outside, warm within. We were on a mission to visit some of the futher reaches of the city using the public transport system. We saw a lot of the city, but it took a long time between drinks more often than not.
Their beers on tap, didn’t notice or ask for any bottled stuff from elsewhere. The beers were all fine, nothing to write home about, but more than ’just drinkable’.
Please go if in the area, but don’t make a journey out here just for the pub, combine it with something else to avoid disappointment.
When I was there, it was a bIt of a shithole, to be honest. Surprisingly popular though. If you go inside, you’ll die like one of Phillip Morris’ test beagles, and if you prefer staying alive and staying outside, you’ll still get a fair amount of smoke, but also get the smell of drains too. House beers were mostly poor. Cash only, which is pretty bollocks this far into the 21st century. Got the place tick, got the brewery and 6 beer ticks, so that’s it, I’m not coming back. Wow, I’m amazed I managed to write a whole review without mentioning gas chambers!
Oh my god. Is this a joke? 6 beers where the 5 were horrible. Overly smokey, small and full of drunk locals. The waitress however was kind and helpfull and served us samplers and didnt want any money for it. A long ride to get here and certainly not worth your time unless you are a ticker.
A really weird place - in a little glass enclosure on the Schlossplatz. Very smokey on a Friday night when the young locas go out. The music was OK for my taste. The brewery is tiny and placed in a corner. The service was very humoristic. 4 own beers on draft, which changes all the time, so you need to come back.
A bit out of the way, but the tram network works fine. Six beers on tap, most of them very good. Speedy table service. A bit puzzling system with the smokers inside and the non-smokers outside, but that’s for the regulars to sort out.
