After a bit of a frustrating search the first time, the reward was instant when I cracked open the door and saw a montage of glasses, bottles and taps that represent some of the best beers in the world! I think Sergio gets a kick out of those first impressions--wide eyed, salivating beer lovers that share his same passion. The tap list and bottle selection is the best I’ve come across in the Midwest, hands down. Food menu is extensive and may explain the lacking preparation, execution and presentation but overall good quality ingredients are apparent. Non-pretentious, beer focused, quirky, unique experience. I’ll be back!
I like beer above wine or liquor, so I like the place a lot. It is pretty much no frills and all about the beer. I suppose he spends total budget on new beers to try. For your first time, go when it is not busy otherwise Sergio will be too busy to talk beer with you, since he is pretty much server and cook as well as beer expert. That will make or break your experience.
