Great place to stop and have a beer if you’re in the neighborhood. Great selection of Sierra Nevada beers, very friendly staff, good music. Food is expensive. There are very few seats; they don’t want people camping out, but if you just want a beer or a quick tasting, there are few better places.
Pristine, modern tasting room, but fairly compact. All Sierra Nevada taps, available in 4 oz pours for between $2 and $4 - can get pricey. Beer is of course very good, and the service was very friendly, generous with the pours and samples. Certainly worth a trip when in Berkeley, or even Oakland.
Amazing looking space that is not only fun to stare out, but its fun to hang out. There were a couple new ticks here, but I fail to see the necessity of this place. You can’t get this beers just about anywhere, so I don’t need a taproom. Its worth just seeing if you’re close by, but you don’t need much time here.
Came on like a tuesday or something. Medium busy. The helper was brand new but seemed to know her shit. Got two samples and two beers. Average selection of bottle for sale but nothing very exclusive. Prices are about same price as stores so not any real savings. Don’t fill outside growlers = losers!!! It’s pretty "eh"
Visited on 29/01/16 around 1pm.
Smart tap room with about 15 SN beers on offer, core range, seasonals/one offs ... as our visit was towards the latter end of SF beer week they also had 4 firkins on the bar.
Service was prompt and friendly although the lunchtime crowd wasn’t so big. In addition to the range on tap they also had some limited edition bottle offerings for sale in the fridges along with various merchandise, doggy stuff, glasses, shirts, mustards etc.
Tasters available on all beers and prices were very reasonable to boot. No food that I could see, there was supposed to be a food truck (different one at lunch to the evening) but this had blown out for some reason (it was a pretty wet day).
Overall a solid tap room and well worth the visit if in the area.
Don’t ask for directions to the Tornado Room ... this venue DOES NOT EXIST ... unless you are from Ohio!
An excellent spot to try some less common Sierra Nevada beers. The bar itself is very clean and neatly laid out. The draft selection is solid, with many obscure beers on offer; the quality ranged a bit, with some of the one-offs not really up to typical SN standards - but still fun to try. The draft beers are very good value. They also offer a range of bottles, including special releases and the core range. (They also sell SN clothing/apparel and other merchandise.) The guys behind the bar were very friendly and happy to talk to us. I would say this is a must-visit spot if you are in the area.
Visited here on a rainy Friday near the end of SFBW, and they had a small firkin event going on. It wasn’t crowded, though. Parking is available in the lot of the store next door. The space is clean and comfortable, with a long bar and a few standing tables, and shorter tables that can be rearranged easily. Only a few SN basics on, and tons of limited and seasonal stuff that I hadn’t tried before. Some pretty cool limited bottles were available for purchase, as well. The bartenders were helpful and attentive. Prices are good, and pours of various sizes are available. Nice merchandise options, too; better than I saw anywhere else on the trip in terms of quality and quantity. Should’ve bought my wife a gift here instead of waiting. Great tap room. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the East Bay.
Plentiful selection of both regular and lots of limited SN beers. Lots of ticks on draft for us, as well as a nice selection of bottles both for in house consumption and take away. No food but food trucks available at times. Sample pours available on all draft beers. Very attentive, nice staff and calm ambiance. Lots of merch available.
