Definitely worth stopping by. It’s within walking distance of the Alibi Room, and (unlike Alibi Room) open during the day, so if you’re in Gaston at that time this is place to go. Not a huge selection - maybe 10-12 taps, but all quality.
This place was cool as shit for atmosphere. Lots of exposed brick walls, with dark wood, low lighting and cozy feeling. Didn’t eat, but food looked solid. Tap list was small, but seemed to be fairly well thought out. Didn’t like the fact they only had one size of draft, but service was good and this place really clicked with me. Great date spot or a place to go in a small group of non-hardcore beer geeks.
Nice little restaraunt with lots of wood and cozy. Not good for big groups, but nice for a few people. Service is OK and tap list is small, but they carry lots of bottles. With so many in the area, I would say this is a nice stop for the atmosphere or food, but if you are ticking go elsewhere.
Sat out on the patio area (or enclosed portion of the sidewalk, if you’d rather). Right on the corner of Alexander and Water, so very much in the thick of things in Gastown.
Small interior with a handful of tables.
Both the food and beer menus are on the short side as well, but that’s fine with me. They do some fancied versions of classics like Poutine and burgers, which are kind of cool. Some sliders and apps (cheese plate, etc.).
In terms of other places in town, the beer selection is perhaps not as exciting. But they do have some local stuff and a number of Belgian beers. Pretty decent prices.
I enjoyed this place, but I don’t know that I would go out of my way to come here...being so close to places like Alibi Room and Steamworks makes it a convenient stop, though.
Cool little place in the main Gastown centre, worthy of a quick pub stop. They now have several beers on tap at reasonable prices. I wouldn’t bother buying the marked up bottles. Service is very friendly and the atmosphere is very nice.
