Located in a maze of a shopping mall, follow the signs makes it easy to get there. I was lucky to get one of the brewers ears for a bit and learned plenty about their beer. They brew 50 gallon batches on the island and Shipyard brewing does all their large scale brewing/bottling. The food was pretty basic pub grub, but nice for drinking. They had 6 taps of their beer and at least 6 more of guest taps. You could also pick up bottled beer and tons of swag. Which we did. Well worth the ferry over from St Thomas.

The only brewery per se on the island, although there is one other guy selling homebrew as the house beer at a restaurant. Overall the staff was friendly and the beer was okay for what it was. Prices were on the high side, but everything on the island is expensive so that’s to be expected. Food was decent but nothing remarkable. Still, worth a stop if you are in St. John.

Small place in a small town in a small island. They have about 5 local brews on tap as well as a bunch of Shipyard stuff. Apparently Shipyard handles all their bottling and mass brewing these days. Unfortunately I’m not a huge Shipyard fan and the beers they have from Shipyard aren’t even among the company’s better selections. But then again, I imagine one shouldn’t be picky when stranded in a small Caribbean island. Mix of local expats and cruise ship people - if you like the kind of crowd the Virgin Islands attracts, then you’ll like this place. They have a rotating seasonal that they brew in house - when I was there it was a coffee stout that was pretty good. I had a blackened Mahi burger that was ok, served with a bag of chips. They have a nice patio.

What a great location! If you are on St. Thomas, don’t skip taking the boat over to St. John’s. Nice people, great place to kill a few pints. IPA was by far the best beer I had in the Caribbean!

OK kind of place considering where it is. I spoke with one of the brewers and he told me they were brewing there (hops were expensive), yet the bottles I took out said contracted by Shipyard.

Only brewery in USVI. Upstairs in Mongoose Junction, which is a kind of mini-plaza of shops; interesting setting. Quick walk from the ferry. A/C’s constantly on the fritz, but there are 2 patio areas as well. I believe they contract brew w/Shipyard, as they had ~a half dozen of their brews on tap as well. 3 TVs, bar menu’s limited to hot pretzels & wings & the like. Definitely worth going to if you’re in USVI.

What can I say, best brew on the island man. Well actually it’s contract brewed up in the states and shipped down, but they plan to have a brewery on island as soon as they can find space. Well worth a stop when you’re down there on vacation (or if you’re lucky enough to live there).
