I really enjoyed Sudwerk. When we visited the Davis store our service wasn’t great. After we finished our samplers we were never given the chance to order a beer from the wait staff. However the food was amazing. I enjoyed the flat iron steak with blue cheese on top. But I thought they had a pretty diverse menu. And Sudwerks beers are all very good especially the Doppelbock when it is in season!
I have also visited the restaurant in Folsom and had much better service there.
Wow, this place is out in the middle of nowhere, along the tracks. The good thing is that they have ample parking, and a lot of it is covered (under the bridge) which is nice in hot Sacramento summers. The brewpub itself has a bit of a chainy feel to it with a central bar housing 10 taps and some brewing equipment, and eating area around and in back. I did not check out the patio; too damn hot. Service was super friendly, but unfortunately when I was there they had problems with their glycol system and only three beers were available. I of course tried all three and they were all ok. Samples were, I believe, $2 apiece.
Stopped in on the way to Santa Rosa. Building looks indistinct from the outside other than the sign by the road. Patio looked nice. Large bar inside with table seating around. Bar service was fine. Only tried the onion rings which weren’t bad. Ten taps with 5 year-round and 5 seasonal offerings. Beers were mostly average to above average. Worth a stop if you’re passing by or in the area.
Been here often on the way to and from Sacto, Tahoe, and home while on the 80.
Food is always good same as the beer. Very solid place with nice friendly knowlegable staff, place is always clean. Last night stopped and had the calamari appetizer along with a White IPA, both excellent. Kind of hard to find, use your GPS.
I have been going to this place for many years and just realized I have never rated it. There is a large horseshoe bar and around 10 taps. Also lots of tables for food service. The barkeeps are generally friendly and helpful. There is a larger range of beers than in the past, not just German styles. The food is pretty good for a bar setting.
At the bar for a couple beers. The taster of five (you pick ’em) and a pint of the dry stout. The stout was good and 3/5 of the tasters were really enjoyable with the other two being average or so. The service was great. They had ten of their own on tap. The value was average. Worth a stop on I-80 to sample a few lagers that aren’t done very often in the US.

Getting here was interesting. The GPS took us around the other side of the "parking lot" which is a dirt lot with massive holes (big enough that I was worried about high centering the car) everywhere that were full of rain water. After manuvering that carefully we parked in the portion of the lot that was paved, underneath the bridge.
Inside is pretty big with two bars and some brewing equipment in the middle of the room. I have to say, I wasnt expecting much after having tried the imperial pils anniversary beer a year earlier but their beer was pretty good, at least the German styles were (which is most of the beer). I was very impressed with almost everything except the IPA and the bock.
Service was very friendly, even if we were only stopping for a quick flight on the way somewhere else. Didnt eat or look at a menu even but wouldnt mind stopping for a pint of pils and a sandwich if I was passing through again.
