Cozy, traditional brewpub next to so many other beer places in the old town. Was quite empty during my visit, atmosphere was rather relaxed and the waiter was in good mood. Don’t come here for the beer alone, it’s just not really worth it. Didn’t try the food, but it seems to be a good place to enjoy a decent meal with a fresh Kölsch in a nice ambiance. Prices are fine, at least for the beers.

A nice traditional Kölsch place. They also have a Weizen on tap. Both the Kölsch and the Weizen are not the best. One station you can tick off easily while walking your Cologne tour.
Pretty place. Feels quite authentic. Good service, good food and decent prices. Sünner might not be the most exciting Kölsch around, but the place itself is worth to walk in and spend a bit of time.
Visited for a small lunch on Sunday afternoon.
Visited Thursday evening. Not so big like other brewpubs of the city but it wasnt crowded. Mostly locals at that time. There is a separate room to seat just for beer (like we did) with a bar and a stand table with stools. Service was a little bit rude but OK. We didnt try the food. Ambiance and decoration was a little bit more colder than the other similar places. Same prices as the rest of the places. Average Kolsch beer.
Tuesday 3rd March .. Maybe the most attractive pub in town .. Not too big for the Cologne standard .. Unfortunately the beer is not so good and after a couple of them you will note that I’m right .. Drink here because it’s a nice place and then go to salzgasse few meters up the road for drinking some Paffgen ..
Visited on a wednesday afternoon. Small charming and intimist place near Heumarkt and not too far from the cathedral and train station. The bar area is quite small, but there’s also a large space for the restaurant area (1st and 2nd floor). Service was fast and friendly (which isn’t something common in Cologne). Selection was limited, but huge for a Kölsch bar with a tap (maybe 2) and at least 1-2 bottles. The Sünner Kölsch is one of the best I had in Cologne. We didn’t try the food. The Kölsch was 1.70 euros / 20 cl which is the standard price for the city. A nice place that I will definitely revisit if I come back in town.

This was actually one of our first stops in Koln but they weren’t open yet so we walked around to half a dozen more breweries/bars and came back to tick some Whales. We sat in the little bar area (very little) to the right when you enter. It really is tiny. One small table by the window and 1, maybe 2 seats at the bar. There are a couple of taps and a fridge full of beer. Apparently Sünner makes more beers than I realized before. A number of them are in the fridge to buy by the bottle. The main dining area is a bit more comfortable with real tables and seating but we chose the bar since we weren’t interested in food. Sitting right by the taps and fridge meant service was quite good.
Walked in and was told to go sit in the bar or outside, we were just checking the place out! Took forever to get a beer and it wasn’t that good when we finally got it. Prices were a bit high too. I’d pretty much avoid this place unless you want beer served in your own tower.
