A fresh, modern looking concrete floored brewpub. Lots of different shades of grey around the wooden tables. The indoor area seats around 40 people with plenty of standing room too. There is an outside patio area at the front, ideal for those hot summer nights. They have 10 taps. Most are from Temple with the occasional guest. Super friendly staff and working wifi. Plenty of ticks and well worth the trip. The number 1 tram stops at Stop 121 less than 5 minutes walk away from the brewery.

A hop, skip and jump from Thunder Road, this was a pleasant surprise given the cold of the night we visited. A family from Hong Kong across from us provided enough banter and festivities to warrant staying on for a few pints. The service a little bit abysmal, though it was only one staff member holding the fort. Love the brewery being in eye-sight all the way up to the function rooms and adjoining balcony. Quite raucous I could imagine if it was full-up as the bar is quite dainty. Did not expect the proud obsession with all things MAMIL from the racing bikes to the lycra racing shirts that were hung for sale. A decent run of pale ales all the way to 9.0% were well received, but it was an American Brown Ale that stole the day. Staggered out of here, camera in toe to capture more street art, and called it a night. Nice!

Nice. Much better than I thought too. You don’t come here for the beer and I suspect most punters wouldn’t come close to a beer nerd classification. VG range of food, well priced, plenty of nibbling medium-sized dishes. Wonderful beer ’garden’ out the front was full. 8 beers on tap and a guest cider. Beers are solid, well made, although not ’crazy’. Could be a different story in winter but an enjoyable visit.

Temple brewing is worth a visit if you are in the Brunswick/Carlton area but is probably not worth going out of your way for. The four beers I tried (of the five local brews + 2 guest taps) were all good without being great and the ambiance was fine but bordering on the bland. I didn’t try any food but it looked and sounded ok. All in all I’m glad I paid a visit but will probably hold off visiting again for a couple of years.

It’s a sweet set-up here. The brewery can be seen through the floor to ceiling high glass. Modern fitout in the front bar with a few benches to sit at. There’s also upstairs seating which I assume is reserved for groups. Temple are brewing sound beers right now, and a tasty range available. Normally quiet in the evenings which is surprising given it’s location just off Lygon St. There’s a kitchen which can be seen from the bar. Menu is comfort food driven but I’m yet to try the food.
